Good idea with Holt. I mean look how good a deal Pace was..... This,if true does sound like a Lovie idea. Hire friends as coaches instead of the right people. Then get old players you talked to a couple in STL to drag out one more year in chicago.

I hope the Bears prove me wrong, but this year seems aweful before it has even begun.

I think Holt would make a nice assistant wr coach but if it's a matter of teaching the other players the system then they should just hire another assistant and a matter of the players studying more intensely.

What we don't need is another WR. What we do need is for the current group to be coached and utilized properly. There is talent there if anyone can actually extract it in a way that consistently wins gmes.

Report: Holt won't be cut today

If the Bears are interested in Torry Holt, they will have to wait until the veteran receiver becomes available.

Last week, the Florida Times Union reported the Jaguars would release Holt and tackle Tra Thomas on Monday, which is the first day team are allowed to cut players. Now the paper is saying that the two are still expected to be given their walking papers, but it likely won't come today.
The Jaguars are reportedly open to releasing the two veterans as soon as possible to make it easier for them to continue their careers with another team.
New Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz might be interested in adding Holt, 33, because he and Martz enjoyed great success together in St. Louis and Holt knows the system. The Bears may also be looking to add another receiver or two since Martz's attack requires more multiple receiver sets.
Holt isn't the receiver he once was but caught 51 passes for 722 yards and no touchdowns last season.

I dont think its a bad move. I mean do we really have a guy who KNOWS this system and WILL make a big catch??... Holt may have lost a step but he doesn't drop passes and is in the right place at the right time... Every time. A starter.. no... dont wanna see that but... to fill the ricky proehl role... ya... give me tori holt.
