I believe that our season is going to be filled with a lot of ups and downs.
Our defense will still be quite average even with the return of Urlacher because...
- Ours safeties are still awful in pass coverage and can't tackle well
- Unless we sign Peppers or Kampman, we won't be able to get pressure on the qb
- Tillman seems to be getting banged up every year now. =(
- Maybe Bowman will take a step forward. =)
- And I think everyone agrees that our LB Corps will be the only awesome part of our D, so i expect teams to be airing it out a LOT
Our offense will be at least in the top 15 next season(an improvement from being ranked 23rd in total yards in 09) I think we will be in for quite a few shootouts in 2010 also. and this is why:
- Tice will improve our O-line
- We will have Chris Williams at LT for a whole season( remember how he shut down Jarred Allen in that OT game)
- Forte will be healthy and he should have better blocking.
- Cutler will have more than half a second to throw.
- G.D.A. will be playing more at wideout, and I'm banking on him not being a fluke based on the 4 games he played.
- Knox will have more experience
- I doubt Martz will use Olsen at FB
- I doubt Marts will call 20 screen passes in a game
