They did in 2005! We won the AL East that year, but the Sox were clearly the best team in baseball.

Exactly. So the Sox got no hit by one of the best throwers in MLB and it's no shame. Big deal we've had our share of them over the past few years as well.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
