• Full Name: Norris Cole
• Position: Guard
• Height/Weight: 6-2 / 170
• Birthdate: October 13, 1989
• College: Cleveland State

DRAFTED BY: Chicago Bulls Round 1: Pick 28

Your browser does not support iframes.

Strengths:
* Can score in variety of ways
* Gets to the free-throw line often
* Good facilitator
* Strong work ethic
* Takes pride in defense
* Good rebounder for his size
Weaknesses:
* Shooting has been inconsistent

NBA projection:
Cole will be drafted late in the first or early in the second round, and given his willingness to work hard could have solid career as a point guard
2010-11 Season:
Was chosen the Horizon League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league in scoring, steals and free-throw percentage and finishing second in assists and seventh in rebounding. Broke school single-season scoring record with 780 points. Also broke school record for free throws made (227) and attempted (266).
Key statistics:
21.7 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 5.3 apg, 2.6 tpg, 2.2 spg, 35.7 mpg, .439 FG, .342 3PT, .853 FT
Cool statistic:
Only two Division I players in the last 15 years put together a 40-point, 20-rebound game. One was Oklahoma's Blake Griffin. The other is Cole, who in February torched Youngstown State with 41 points, 20 boards and nine assists.
Reminds me of:
Toney Douglas
What Insiders Say:
Gary Waters, Cleveland State coach
"He goes out and guards the best player on every team and holds them to single digits. At the same time he's going to score his points, and assist for his team. He does basically everything you could think about for a team to be successful."
What Outsiders Say:
Ryan Blake, NBA Scouting
"He's not just a scorer. He can also run the offense, and he can defend. That is the key."

Someone was drunk last night

3 people were, Gar, Pax and Thib.....We didn't get that guy btw, he went to another team so we could get that euro stiff. A Euro scorer that only averages 8 pts a game?!?!?!? AND doesn't play D? WTF!!!!

Derrick Rose reminds me a little of Isiah Thomas in his style of play.

He's a no D scorer who only averages 8 points a game....he won't ever be on the roster, it was a throw away pick. And we could have gotten a better impact player D/O w/the first pick we moved up to get, and still got this throw away w/the 30th. I know why people like the Marquette Kid, but he doesn't bring what the team needed from the shooting guard/small forward position...Offense. We have D stoppers everywhere, we have no O. Both were wasted picks that won't be on the roster in 3-4 years. The Euro stiff will never.

I'm hardly a historian, so I'm probably wrong, but I always remembered Isiah as more of a disher and less of a scorer then Rose. But again, I was really just getting into the sport about the time he retired, so I might very well be wrong.

What I was basing on was that I think Isiah Thomas was about the same height, but if you want to go by his stats, it really depends on what part of his career you're talking about. From seasons two through six, he had a median average of 21.2 points per game, and he was a assists machine, like you said. They might not have been all that similar (Rose and Thomas), but Thomas was 6'1" and Rose is like 6'2".

in basketball Im never excited about a draft pick out of the top ten so Im with you that Im skeptical these two will contribute anything to our team. But the fact is noone probably wanted our picks and first rounders are guaranteed contracts. I knew we would get some euro trash that wont be on the roster for a few seasons just to save on cap space to squeeze in a Rose max contract and see if we can use the midlevel on a SG.
