Which is the most popular team with Bears fans? Iam guessing Illinois due to the obvious historical and location links.
They are certainly the team I look out for, they rarely play on ESPN over here though.

I'm guessing most folks that root for the Bears root for either Northwestern, Illinois, or Notre Dame. I myself root for a small division school, SIU. I can't find a big name school to root for like Notre Dame, Oklahoma or Alabama.
I quite like Miami...mainly because they were so awesome when I first got into football in the '80's...and everyone seems to hate them!! :)
