Ok, 4th... for future reference, and I hope you never need it, but if you become aware of something like this, here's what you do. Write it down, I know it's a long drawn out process, but we want to protect that 10 year old kid above and beyond any other considerations.
Ready?

He's not being punished for what Sandusky did, he's getting punished for his role in this. It did happen under his watch, right? The only innocent person being being unjustly crucified in this, is McQueery. I admit he-along with many others-should have done more, but his career is over. Unless, he kept quiet in exchange for some kinda perk or promotion, he should not be treated worse than JoPa....and he is
Dude, Joe Paterno is in his mid 70's and I highly doubt this guy knows how to handle this type of situation. Why would a university not have a HR department, they are a business that employs several hundred employees.

Whats to know?
You hear an adult is anally raping a child there are two options
option 1- call the police
option 2 -beat the living shit out of him, then call the police

It is so easy to sit behind a computer and tell people what you would do without having to deal with the consequences of your actions. I am willing to bet Joe Paterno knew of what was happening but the university lawyers probably told him to keep his mouth shut or lose your job over this scandal and tarnish your coaching career. Universities and organizations have ways to keep peoples mouths shut and I think this is what happened to Paterno. I am sure he regrets not doing more about the situation now that it made national news.

It's not as if were talking about a DUI cover up here though. He's as much a part of it as the AD and President. If he has any regret about not doing more then great...he gets it. There's no way he could've tarnished his image by going public...no way

Lets see.... keep your mouth shut knowing this will eventually come out, and yuor rep will be forever tarnished, with the likelihood of being fired over it and maybe sued
OR
Hear about it, report it (as he did) then call the Fn cops when your superiors decide not to do shit and get deemed a hero. The U would not dear fire him for exposing that piece of shit.
Did JoPa rape those kids? No. Did he know about it? Yes. He knew it was going on for a very long time. I hope like hell he feels like shit and it eats at him for years.
But you are right 4th. They have something on him, at least the molester does. Everyone in every university has shit on everyone else, especially when they have been together for as long as they were at Pedo U. But at the same time, at some point you have to make a decision. My rep, or a child's innocence. Fuck my rep, I would do whatever I could to save that poor child.

You can't go public on an incident like this without evidence. What if the guy reporting what he saw was lying like the stripper did with on the Duke Lacrosse case of athletes raping a stripper only to find out later on she was lying.

Sorry benjamin but being a whistle blower will eventually get your fired or your contract not renewed. The thing I see wrong is that his superiors did not deal with the problem correctly and I don't feel it is Joe to deal with the problem publicly.

Umm... I think they could've had the kid questioned by a counselor...the parents..anyone with the expertise of how to handle it. What kind of evidence would they need? pictures? It's not "Sixteen Candles" where a bunch of nerds are passing around Molly Ringwald's panties. they had a member of the staff report it!! If they thought the guy reporting it was lying, why'd Sandusky retire? IF they thought he was lying or had no proof is irrelevant though. It's not up to the university to determine that, it's up to the authorities...the same authorities they didn't notify cause maybe it was a lie? yeah...that's why they didn't call them. When anyone reports that to a high ranking official anywhere, they are suppose to call the authorities PERIOD

well, keeping quiet evidently gets you fired too. Joe Paterno a "whistle blower"??????????? You've gotta be shitting me 4th? I don't see anyway in which he would / could / or should have gotten fired for coming out about this. Please explain how the media would've called for JOE PATERNO's termination for exposing child molestation, and how the university would oblige? Remember...we're talking about Joe Paterno now, not Ron Zook, Brian Kelly, or any other coach in America. There is no present day coach equal to Paterno in college football folklore maybe even ever, so go ahead and explain
