Sandusky Victims Lawyer Contends That Firing Paterno Wrong.....
Before we all get so carried away with out own opinions maybe we should listen to what the victims have to say about the firing of Joe Paterno. Personally I think he's being made to hang for a crime he didn't comitt but that just one man's opinion. Kind of like locking the barn after the horse has been stolen this smacks more of an attempt by PSU to save face than solve anything. Paterno was retiring anyway so why not just let it go at that. All this has done is brought more notoriety and attention to this horror story.
Alleged Victims' Lawyer: Penn State Board Made Wrong Call By Firing Joe Paterno

There are so many opinions on the firing of Penn State head coach Joe Paterno, and they all have their own context. Some make sense, some don't, and some get erased from Twitter in two-and-a-half seconds.
But one opinion that may surprise is that of Harrisburg civil attorney Ben Andreozzi. He has been advising some of the alleged victims of former Penn State defensive coach Jerry Sandusky, but released a statement [Via Pennlive.com] that is certain to raise a few eyebrows:
"The board of trustees got it wrong. They should have consulted the victims before making a decision on Mr. Paterno...They should have considered these victims watch TV and are aware of the students' reaction and may not want to be associated with the downfall of Mr. Paterno. The school instead elected to do what it felt was in its own best interest at the time. Isn’t that what put the school in this position in the first place?"
Andreozzi's statement backed up those in State College and elsewhere who have chosen the Penn State Board of Trustees as the newest villain in a sickeningly sordid affair.
"The way the Board reached its decision raises more concerns than the decision itself. There is no indication the Board considered the impact of the decision on the abuse victims. The school let the victims down once, and I think they owed it to the victims to at least gauge how the immediate termination decision would impact them as opposed to Mr. Paterno's resignation at the end of the year. These victims do not live in a bubble. They see the students reaction to the termination, and to think this does not weigh on their minds would be naive."
Is his assumption fair? Should the victims fear that somehow, in all of this chaos, they will become the villains?
Let's all hope not. Perhaps that fact that we are now hearing from the alleged victims -- even through their parents and representatives -- means they won't have to suffer in silence anymore.

all due respect, I disagree. He allowed it to continue, he could have prevented most of them from being abused. If he or McQueerie (however you spell his name) had of called the cops from the very beginning that monster would have never touched half those children.

The rioters need to stfu. I wouldn't be surprised if something happened to one of the victims though. After all the stupid things weve seen this year from over enfatic fans, it wouldn't surprise me at all. I got unfriended on FB by some douche PSU fan for saying should be fired. He even threatened thedude33

Why does it not surprise me that a graduate of Penn State thinks the firing of Paterno was wrong?

Wasn't this the same school that had a dorm dress up as Virginia Tech victims for Halloween one year? Stay Classy, Happy Valley

For the record I know 2 people that went to PSU, both think JoPa should have been fired.
The fact that JoPa knew of this, and he did, and let Sandusky finish another year in service so he qualified for full retirement benefits, is reprehensible. The fact that he then allowed him to become a member of the emeritus staff and have an office and keys to the training facilities that he used for his deviant behaviors is enraging. JoPa, deserved to be fired.....and sued.....and arrested.

I think Joe Paterno is getting hosed for what Sandusky did and I think that is wrong. It just seems to me that he got punished for the crimes of another person. I don't think Joe Paterno should have dealt with the incidents but the school itself should have. I don't know how you report something like this unless there are a few people involved. Going to a person in their mid 70's would not have been my choice on who to contact if I had witnessed Sandusky touching a kid. There are people at the school you could have gone to instead of a HC. JMO if I had witnessed something like this I would have gone to my boss and HR and reported the incident.

When everyday men turn a blind eye to evil being done, they are aiding and complicent in its' execution.
A reasonable man would find the sexual abuse of a child reprehensible,it's evil incarnate.
As one who knows and has dealt with "victims",the act is a lifelong scar on their soul.
There is no justification for anyone involved with the team on a daily basis to have allowed it to go on.
This Sandusky set up a foundation for at risk boys,to ensure his supply of victims.
Read the indictment, and judge for yourself.
There was a long and incestuous relationship between many involved,(working for and with each other).
People knew, how many is undetermined, but the permanent harm done to these kids supercedes
any thought of what kind of man and coach Paterno was.
It happened on his watch, which is bad enough, but it's difficult to believe he didn't know.
If he is found to have obstructed and or covered this up,his head could be on the block too.

C'mon man!! JoPa IS Penn State. Why would you not go to him first? I don't think universities have an HR Dept., but Paterno was McQueery's boss. I guarantee Paterno knew all along what the plan was. He had to have known. He knew why he was retiring, he knew everything. He got fired cause whether or not he had the authority to fire him, he helped conceal it. That's why he got axed. He's not being punished for what Sandusky did, he's getting punished for his role in this. It did happen under his watch, right? The only innocent person being being unjustly crucified in this, is McQueery. I admit he-along with many others-should have done more, but his career is over. Unless, he kept quiet in exchange for some kinda perk or promotion, he should not be treated worse than JoPa....and he is
