Sorry guys. Toews is the best player on the team, followed by Patrick Sharp. Kane hasn't really come into his own yet, and that, along with his character issues off the ice, are the reasons why I will never buy a jersey of his.

I follow this team too, but I just have issues with Kane. I am not a Chicago native, so I'm not going to give two shits about the homer factor in determining his behavior on and off ice, nor will I curb my expectations of him. Kane has had his off-ice problems and he needs to deal with them. If you have an issue with me regarding something else, please do as you did before with the message you sent regarding the joke that I made of you being a closet Packer fan and address it that way. I'll still tell you what I think just as I told you what I think about Kane in this thread.
At what point do we stop saying that Kane is a kid? At 30? And when will we see him score 40 or 50 goals a season since he was the #1 draft pick? Toews is a far superior player to him, and I think Sharp might be as well. That's not saying that Kane is a horrible player - far from it. He is a very good, above average player at this point in his career. But I expect more out of him since he was a #1 draft pick, both as a leader of this team and as a player. If ever reaches the level of play like what we saw with Denis Savard, I'll be happy. As a RW, if he were to become another Bobby Hull, I'd be ecstatic. But he has a long way to go in my book before he reaches the level of what I think he needs to play at in order for him to become truly great. Also, he needs to behave off the ice. While he got away with most of the charges up in Buffalo, he still was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. To be a great player means that you should be an upstanding citizen, and Kane screwed up right there. He may never do anything of the sort again, and if he doesn't, my mind about him in that sense will change to thinking that he just did something that an immature kid would do. But until a few years passes from that event, I will be a little reticent to call Kane an outstanding citizen.
MONTREAL — By this time next week, the Blackhawks will be either sprouting playoff beards or clean-shaven and making plans for a longer-than-hoped-for offseason.
Four games remain in the regular season, and despite stumbling down the stretch, the Hawks still have control of their postseason fate as they cling to the eighth spot in the Western Conference.
To get in, they must hold off a ninth-place Flames team one point behind but down to its final two games, or the Stars, who trail by three but have the easier schedule with games against four teams already eliminated from the postseason.
While it remains to be seen where the Hawks will stand when the dust settles — in or out of the playoffs, or higher in the standings — after the horn sounds following Sunday's finale against the Red Wings at the United Center, it's clear the Stanley Cup champions aren't playing playoff-caliber hockey.
The Hawks have been shut out in two of their last three games — including a 2-0 blanking by the Lightning on Sunday — and in the game they did manage to win against struggling Columbus on Friday, their quality of play left much to be desired.
Even if the Hawks capture points in two or three games this week to secure a playoff spot, they realize a deep playoff run would be difficult the way they're playing.
"We want to start putting points together," defenseman Chris Campoli said. "We're a confident group and we want to be going into the playoffs playing well. We believe that's where we're going to be."
Prior to last season's run to their first Stanley Cup championship in 49 years, the Hawks were clicking on all cylinders with wins in six of their final seven games and points in all of them. They rode that momentum into their first-round matchup against the Predators and survived in six games before rolling to the Cup.
"Every single game is important and it's not even about points," captain Jonathan Toews said. "We keep saying we want to prepare ourselves to be a team that goes beyond the first round regardless of who we play (and) whether we get home-ice (advantage). Once you get to the playoffs anything can happen, but you have to be prepared for it. We're not going to be satisfied with (winning one round). We're not looking too far ahead; we just have to improve every single game.
"Whether you have momentum going into the playoffs or not … we don't want to keep playing like this, that's for sure."
The scramble just to get into the playoffs, which continues against the Canadiens on Tuesday night, also has limited coach Joel Quenneville's ability to tinker with lineups and get into postseason mode, unlike last season.
"You had the luxury maybe to try things that might work down the road for you at that time," Quenneville said. "We don't have that luxury right now. You're playing to win just like every opponent you're facing is playing to win. Nothing's changed in that regard. The importance and meaning of the games are real."

1) Maybe I will stop calling him a kid when he is able to actually grow a beard. He is only 22yrs old and he still is a kid. When he was drafted he started playing against players that were twice his age which is a big difference comming into a league when you are only 18 yrs old. He is small player in this league, only 180lbs, under 6' so I don't see him being physical like some people want him to be. I do see him being a 100pt scorer in his career but for now he is still learning the game and getting better. He averages almost 1 pt per game which is puts him in the elite category for hockey players. Will he score 40 or 50 goals in his career? Maybe he will or maybe he wont but for now I like his progress and he is getting better from his first year in the league. 3) As for his off ice issues he was arrested when he was I believe 20 yrs old. Yes is was stupid what he did yet he paid a heavy price with a public humiliation of dealing with this issue. Since that issue (2 years ago)I have not heard of anything else that has happening so get over it. 4) Since you think Toews is a far superior player then tell me which of the two players has more points over their career? In my eyes it is hard to compare two totally different style hockey players where Toews is 3 inches taller and 30lb heavier than Kane. That is exactly how I feel about Kane. He is not like Hossa who can take a beating and still hold on the puck but he has set up so real impressive goals for players on this team. I doubt Sharpe would have as many goals right now if it were not for Kane setting up the play. I would rather see Patrick Kane playing for the Chicago Blackhawks then any other team and without him we are sitting on 50 years of a Championship.
