Hawks win in OT.
Sharp gets the OT goal from Patrick Kane.
This team continues to excite!
This is a very good win for the Hawks. St. Louis is a good team within the division. St. Louis played well last night. Shut down many of our passing lanes and blocked a lot of shots. I thought the Hawks had good jump throughout the game, fought for pucks, kept possession and finished checks. St. Louis controlled the action in spurts. Hossa continues to show why he's worth so much money. Cullimore made a great play in OT to keep the puck in the zone, carry it behind the net and find Kaner with the pass. Kane showed a lot of patience too in making that pass to Sharp! Sniper Sharpie puts it away for an exciting win.
IMO, comparing talent level of who we lost vs. who is now on the team, I believe this team has more talent than last years team. Ladd and Versteeg are the only 2 players I'd still like to have on the team. It will be interesting to watch this team grow as the new players familiarize themselves with the system. They are only going to get better.
i think this team needs about another 15-20 games before some of the replacements start getting into the groove. Turco played another great game.
Hard to get used to watching Turco. He's very active in the crease. He reminds me a little of Belfour. Agree with the 15 - 20 games 4th. I really like the line of Stalberg, Skille and Dowell. They play with a lot of energy and are a scoring improvement over Burish, Eager, etc... I can't wait to watch them gel! Dowell is already on the PK!
I want to see someone kick Jackman's ass tonight.
I think Nick Boynton needs to sit a few games. I can't wait until Campbell is back
I agree Boyton take some really stupid penalties like shooting the puck into the crowd with 2 minutes left in the game. It's not like he's a kid or anything. I guess Cambell's been practicing so that's a positive. Bad news is Hossa's out for two weeks with an upper body injury. Not sure of specifics.
I read today that it "might" be his shoulder. Everybody is speculating so I take it with a grain of salt.
Too many turnovers by our defensemen. This is so surprising to me since there wasn't much turnover in the personel of our defense from last year. Both Keith and Seabrook are turning it over too. I'm sure they'll get it worked out, but going into the season, this was not a concern area. IMO, it has been in the first 11 games.
With alot of the new faces I figured it would take roughly 20 games for these guys to gel. There are times they seem dominate and times they look real out of place. It sucks to here Hossa will miss some time because he was the guy playing his ass off. I think they need to pass less and just shoot the puck. Some of the goals we have given up were a result of a puck being shot and redirected or deflected off a skate. Turco has been real solid yet the soft goals seem to get past him at times. He has been the reason the games have been real close.
