I know at one time, the Hawks penalty killing was tops in the NHL. Now, it's near the bottom, mainly because of that week we play Vancouver, Columbus, etc., the Hawks surrendered something like eight Power Play goals. It's amazing what missing your All-Star defenseman will do to you.

Crawford played real good last night and the team got better after the first period. It was a bit ugly but the boys are starting out the road trip on a good note beating the canucks. On a side note does any Hawks fan have a urge to want to punch Kevin Bieksa in the face every time the camera is on him?

And spank them they did. Does my heart good to see the Canucks get trounced.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Yes, but I'd pay big money to watch big John beat the hell out of both of the sisters at the same time. Could even be a pay per view event.

With the Bears sucking balls we can focus on the Blackhawks who have no problem scoring goals but for some reason are struggling with giving up goals. I watched the NY Islanders game and I can't believe the lucky bounces they had on two goals. Just shoot the puck and good things will happen.

I've got to believe that the Hawks' defense is soft. Corey Crawford was minding the net really well until that road trip began. Now, we're giving up three and four goals a night, and not winning as much. What is up with that?

Last night was a good comeback and got us a point but we need guys like Sharp to just shoot and quit passing so much. And yes our D is soft, I like the Kieth, Leddy grouping better than the old Kieth, Seabs.

Good win by the Hawks last night versus the Islanders, though I'm a little disappointed that it had to go to Sudden Death OT. The Islanders are not a good team, and it wasn't our defense so much that caused us a lot of heartache (in fact, I thought that the defense and Ray Emery did really well last night). Our offense didn't do very well, scoring just two goals in the first two periods. Right now, as I see it, unless we can start putting together complete games with good defense and goal tending along with the already-stellar offensive production we normally have most nights, this race with Detroit is going to be a tough one because they always are prepared.
