Benji, I went to one Hawks game in Nashville back in January of 2009. The Hawks got blanked, 4-0. That night was cold and miserable, and I remember that Dad refused to spend the night in a hotel in the Greater Nashville Metropolitan Area, so we were gone about 15 hours including the game, driving, and having to stop on I-40 periodically for bathroom breaks and lunch/dinner. To top that off, we got pulled over because Dad didn't pull over into the adjacent lane when a police officer was pulling back onto the Interstate despite the fact that there were cars zipping by us in that lane and he couldn't pull over. That was truly a shit-slung day.

Why is it when the Hawks play the flyers the refs do not call penalties against this POS team? Thank you for screwing the hawks out of a point with your lame ass High sticking penalty.

They don't do it because it spoils their dinner?

Was a bummer to see that the Hawks lost, but hey.. they beat them to win the Stanley Cup.

Chicago Blackhawks' Patrick Sharp leaves game with upper-body injury - ESPN Chicago

Patrick Sharp hurt, exits after 1st period

CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp left Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss against the Detroit Red Wings after the first period with an upper-body injury and didn't return.
The Hawks announced Sharp was done for the night at the start of the third period.
"He's got an upper-body (injury)," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said after the game. "We're going to do some tests. We'll know more tomorrow."
Sharp scored the Hawks' second goal of the game, his 20th of the season, at 4:19 of the first period and skated eight shifts.
There was no announcement as to the extent of his injury or how it happened.
This injury doesn't look good. Hopefully he won't miss any time.

I hope this doesn't cause us to lose our grip on the division.

Hoping the healthy players pick it up and get out of this losing streak.

Remember that the hockey season, much like baseball and pro basketball, is a marathon. Losing two or three straight games isn't uncommon. One thing, though, that I will say is that the Blackhawks are going to have to address the goaltender issue at season's end. I don't think they will win the Stanley Cup simply because Crawford and Emery are just too inconsistent.

The Hawks made a terrible mistake not prioritizing this position two years ago when the mass exodus of players occured after the big win in the Stanley Cup Finals. Antti Niemi had the look of being a special netminder, but the Hawks didn't keep him around. Corey Crawford has potential, but he is so inconsistent, and Ray Emery has been prone to injuries to his lower body over the years, which has affected his effectiveness. Have the Hawks pitched a single shutout all year?
