It fits slightly better, but the oline is going to kill you. Take one turnover prone easily frustrated QB, throw him behind crappy line where he has zero time to throw the ball in an offense that will be throwing more. I can see him easily throwing just as many if not more picks than last year unless he learns how to take some sacks instead.

here's an intersting article from SI:

Best Team That Won't Make the Playoffs

    King
Things aren't starting out well with no Sidney Rice, Brett Favre's ankle a worry and Percy Harvin week-to-week regarding his availability.

    Hack
Brett's ankle, Sidney Rice's hip, and a killer month of October (at Jets, v. Cowboys, at Packers, at Patriots) will be too much for this drama troupe to overcome...
While I find it surprising that you haven't changed your stripes at all, I will say this about the article you posted... "That is why they play the games."

Since you are fond of Mr. King's predictions.... I would imagine you would agree with his prediction that the Bears are ranked BEHIND the Lions at #25 out of 32 teams?

Or now will you take the other road and tell all of us how Mr. King is a hack and knows absolutely nothing about the NFL?

Sidenote: I am with much of the rest of this board when I assess the "changes" the Bears have made.

    This.

I think Cutler has LOADS of talent. I also think that he is the second coming of Brett Favre. His arm is going to win you a few games but that same arm will lose you a few games too. Favre, FINALLY, at 40 damn years of age is just beginning to learn to make better decisions with the football. I hope that Cutler doesn't wait until he's 40 to do the same. Then again, behind that O-Line he may not make it to 40.

The guy definitely is talented, we all saw that in Denver. He absolutely needs a good supporting cast around him to be successful though. He's not the type of QB that's going to be stellar behind a horrible line. However, even when given all the time in the world (which is rare), he still makes dumb throws into multiple coverage. He relies far too much on his arm at times and not enough on his head. He also seems to get frustrated extremely easily and when the wheels come off, they come off in a big way.

You just rattled off all of the reasons that the Broncos turned Cutler loose. What Cutler hasn't learned and NEEDS to learn to be a Super Bowl caliber QB is how to take care of the football.

If Favre knew how to take care of the football, the Packers would have won another Super Bowl.

That and if we actually had a defense that was worth a damn for a few seasons. 4th and 26 still KILLS ME! Watching Favre piss away playoff games, however, is one thing I definitely won't miss.

Yeah that defense fell apart after White's retirement.

The Packers are picked by almost all of the experts to win the division though! Your O-Line must be much improved as well as your defense!

I expect our line to be greatly improved. They looked solid every game in preseason, which definitely couldn't have been said about the unit last season. I think as long as we don't get devoured by injuries we should be ok up front. Rodgers is going to make defensive coordinators cry with time in the pocket.

The only thing that worries me about our defense is an extreme lack of depth in the db department. We have Woodson, Collins, a young and promising rookie in Burnett, Williams, and then after that we have no one. Harris is out until week 6, and Bigby can stay out as far as I'm concerned. I was hoping we would have gotten rid of everyone behind Woodson/Harris/Williams at corner, but we kept every single one of those guys for yet another season. We definitely need to boot them and get more talented guys asap or we're in trouble.

king picked the bears to make the superbowl last year, so him picking the packers this year makes me happy! : ) as far as king's prognosis..

and you are shocked and continued to be shocked that on a chicago bear's board in the rival section, bear fans don't suck up to their rivals and well 'treat them like rivals" and instead of finding all the 'good" about the rivals, we don't??.. its funny you sure come hear to talk smack on bears, should we come to this section to talk smack on vikes?

Yeah. Same old db54... You see when you post an article about something that you agree with and I post another article by the same author... wait... This is pointless, isn't it? Never mind.

Your next point.... When have I ever talked shit about this Bears on this board? It is Bear fan that consistently refers to Favre by silly names. It is Bear fan that consistently refers to other teams in the division with silly names. That isn't me, sir. I have no qualms about posting what I post on this board or any other because I can back it up with facts to support my argument. That is how I roll. Therefore, the name calling is something that I am just unwilling to do because I am not a fan of calling a team a loser when they just beat my team. Only because if they are a loser and they beat my team, what does that make MY team? Yeah, less than a loser.

If you don't like how I can discuss the Packers, Bears, Lions, or any team in the NFL for that matter from a clear, logical place, than ignore my posts. Frankly, I choose to read your posts because homers entertain me and keep me honest. If I ever start sounding like a homer, then I know that I need to back away, take a breath, & reconsider a position that I have taken.

Lastly, Bear fan DOESN'T come to this board and run their mouths about the Vikings, Packers, or anyone else they see fit? Really? Have you seen the first thread that is stickied on this board? It is named, 'Brett Favres 1000 excuses', is it not? That, my friend, is Bear fan talking smack about the Vikings already! So let's not threaten to do something that is already taking place, 'mmmmkay? This is a Bear board and I get that I will occasionally have to read crap that I don't like from Bear fan about the Vikings. That is why I use this piece of technology called 'choice' and I do not click on some threads. Instead of whining like a baby or PM'ing a mod to complain, I just don't click on threads that have a title that is indicative of Bear fan talking smack about another team. Either way, let's call a spade a spade here and cool it with the "Would you like Bear fan to come onto this board and talk smack about YOUR Vikings?" because that goes on with regularity on this board!! LOL!!

Now, unless, you have some football to talk in this thread, I'm finished here. However, if you DO have some football knowledge to add, please bring it. I'd love to hear yuor thoughts on some of the stuff that Evernight and I discussed. Cheers!
