When will fans be accountable for their actions? Why is it always the athletes fault in these situations? I think the bears security should be held accountable for the safety of all athletes and security should be by the tunnels where the athelets exit. I am willing to bet that the fan was a dick and he said something that provoked Collins. Second the mouth piece is a piece of plastic that will I highly doubt would hurt the drunk asshole fan. If anything Al Sharpton should have a long conversation with the fan and demand he lose his job for dropping the N word. Personally I think we need to kill all lawyers and let people solve their problems with each other the old fashion way of a duel or a beatdown. JMO

Yep, I don't care what team the player plays for that is spit on, there's zero excuse for it. I don't understand why fans go to football games to get drunk. You pay all that money to do nothing but drink until you're plastered and then probably end up doing something stupid. If you want to drink stay the eff home and do it so you don't ruin the experience of everyone else around you.

Five arrested, 15 ejected at Green Bay Packers final preseason home game

Five arrested, 15 ejected at Green Bay Packers final preseason home game Thursday

Green Bay police arrested five people and ejected about 15 others at Thursday’s Green Bay Packers-Indianapolis Colts preseason game at Lambeau Field.

Three people were arrested for unlawful conduct at a public event, which carries an $870 fine, said Cmdr. Lisa Sterr. One person was taken into custody for underage drinking, and another on a probation hold.

Those ejected were kicked out for various misconduct violations.

Steelers fan says he was poisoned, blinded by Bears fans

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 18, 2009 2:36 PM ET
Steelers fan Zack Heddinger says he was blinded at a Chicago bar by Bears fans after some trash talking gone awry.

Heddinger was in the Windy City for the Steelers 17-14 loss to Chicago in Week Two.

"Basically, I guess, my buddies had gotten into an altercation and they offered a drink as a peacemaker from what I understand," Heddinger said.

    That's where things get weird.

According to ABC4 in Pittsburgh, Heddinger passed out and his heart stopped four times after he was rushed to a local hospital. Initially, doctors just thought he was drunk. But they quickly suspected something else was up.

Police are now investigating the incident, and the local bar, Kitty O'Shea's, is fully cooperating. Doctors now believe his drink could have been spiked with toxic grain alcohol.

Heddinger says he can't remember what happened that day, but hasn't been able to see since. He's taking oxygen treatments to recover his part of his eyesight, but doctors aren't very hopeful.

"I don't think they tried to kill me. I think they tried to hurt me, but the killing came pretty close," said Heddinger.

I remember taking my older brother to a steelers/bears game in the 90's and there were a couple of stupid drunk fans picking on a steeler fan. I remember seeing them taking his steeler blanket and pooring bear on it passing it around to the crowd so others can spit or wipe their ass with it. It was not bad but when kids are present and these asshole are acting like this is embarassing. This is one reason I will not bring my children to a football game and second I don't think I can afford to bring them.

LOL 4th do you ever tire of defending anyone but the bears anymore? jsut curious

BTW no charges were ever filed in that case, and as usual with the internet 'story" turned out BS.. but can see you will still hang on to anything negative about the fanbase.. which is kind of ironic, imo

Why did you post the false accusation, but not the conclusion that is was bs?

Packer Fans Tie Season High For Lambeau Field Arrests

The 13 arrests tied a season high, matching the Oct. 7 game against Chicago (imagine that).
The complete season in Lambeau arrests:

Jan. 12 vs. Seattle (NFC divisional playoff): four arrested, 22 ejected.
Dec. 30 vs. Detroit: five arrested, 16 ejected.
Dec. 9 vs. Oakland: three arrested, 16 ejected.
Nov. 18 vs. Carolina: six arrested, 12 ejected.
Nov. 11 vs. Minnesota: five arrested, 14 ejected.
Oct. 14 vs. Washington: eight arrested, six ejected.
Oct. 7 vs. Chicago: 13 arrested, 46 ejected.
Sept. 23 vs. San Diego: two arrested, nine ejected.
Sept. 9 vs. Philadelphia: two arrested, nine ejected.
Aug. 23 vs. Jacksonville (preseason): five arrested, 12 ejected.
Aug. 18 vs. Seattle (preseason): five arrested, 13 ejected.
We’ll go out on a limb and say most of Sunday’s citations were alcohol related. Just a hunch

Actually DB I didn't know it was just a BS story, I just posted the first story that comes to mind when it involves asshole bear fans. Being a bear fan and seeing how some can be dicks at games is something I have seen with my own eyes. A few years ago I went to a steeler/Bears game in pittsburgh and I can say I was scared to show my bears shirts due to the fact of a few drunk steeler fans acting crazy. When you hear someone yell cut Urlachers fucking head off and fans cheer that shit, just shows that all fan bases have asshole fans. In this case with Nick Collins I am willing to bet the bears fan was an asshole. I doubt an athlete would start a pissing match with a fan. As for the fan base I am neutral and I call it as I see it. Why do you only post packer fans getting arrested? I am sure there are bear fans doing the same crap yet you seem to ignore those stories.

I've heard horror stories of opposing fans, at bears games and other teams games, just all but getting molested by the home fanbase...it's not euro soccer bad, but still. I remember hearing a little girl had an opposing jersey on and some dipshit fans dumped nacho cheese on her and her dad; that's dispicable regardless of the team they were rooting for. It's like all social edicate gets thrown out the F'n window when you goto a football game; it's sad, and I"ll be just as happy to stay home and watch on my large HD then have to deal w/stupid drunk trash.
