According to Peter King of SI.com, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre will meet with NFL Security VP Milt Ahlerich Tues in Minnesota to discuss the Sterger case. According to Alex Flanagan of NBC Sports, the NFL has been unable to talk yet with Jenn Sterger.
I think it's over now that she isn't going to talk. I'm fine with her wanting to stay out of the investigation but why doesn't she have the courtesy to provide me with a sext of her ta tas? Bitch.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre is scheduled to meet Tuesday with the NFL's security director as part of an investigation into whether he sent inappropriate text messages to a former New York Jets sideline reporter. Already, however, the allegations have begun to impact Favre's off-field career.
CNBC's Darren Rovell reports that Wrangler cut Favre's ubiquitous jeans commercial from all NFL broadcasts over the weekend. The ad was replaced by those shot by other sports stars, including NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., and was instead showed on niche channels with no NFL ties.
Favre has repeatedly refused to comment on the allegations. But as we discussed last week, his failure to deny them has helped fuel the story. Now, the next step has occurred: At least one advertiser is diminishing his commercial reach.
A recent Forbes magazine blog post suggested the allegations, if true, could cost Favre $100 million in endorsements over the next 10 years. We're well short of that point, of course, but already they are having a financial impact.
I don't get how it's a "security" issue as more of a PR issue/nightmare. He could say anything as an excuse to them even if they had a photo as long as the "code of conduct" reference isn't violated.
