Junior Seau Arrested For Domestic Abuse, Reportedly Drives Off A Cliff

First, TMZ reported that Junior Seau was arrested at approximately 2:00 am in San Diego last night. The sources from San Diego law enforcement have indicated that Seau was brought in on suspicion of domestic abuse, processed, and released about 90 minutes later. So that's number one.
Then, just hours later, Junior Seau reportedly drove his SUV off a Southern California cliff. He survived the crash and has been transported to a local hospital, though the extent of his injuries are unknown for the time being. In any case, it's a completely bizarre coda to the domestic abuse charge, an allegation that's completely out of character for someone like Seau, long considered one of the NFL's great statesmen.
Clearly, all is not well with Junior Seau, and while we wait for the facts to rise to the surface and fill out the context here, for now, thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved.

We're told the retired NFL superstar sustained injuries in the wreck -- cops are on scene. TMZ obtained these photos of Seau's SUV which landed at the bottom of a cliff several feet from the beach.
Seau has been transported to a local hospital. The accident happened just north of Oceanside, CA ... where the former San Diego Charger had just been released from jail hours earlier.
As TMZ first reported, Seau was arrested early this morning for domestic violence.
