    James Harrison: Hypocrite

Wasn't this the guy who said he was out to hurt you if he played against you?

Harrison questions if Ravens targeted him

By ALAN ROBINSON, AP Sports Writer 45 minutes ago

PITTSBURGH (AP)—Steelers linebacker James Harrison(notes) has been fined four times this season for dangerous hits. Now, he thinks an opposing player should be disciplined for supposedly going after him.
Harrison believes Baltimore Ravens guard Chris Chester(notes) deliberately went after him while being called for a false-start penalty during an extra-point attempt Sunday. Chester came off the line of scrimmage and drove at Harrison, an unusual blocking technique because offensive linemen generally try to remain packed to avoid potential blocked kicks.

Harrison, a three-time Pro Bowl linebacker, said it was the perfect time to target him because such an infraction draws only a 5-yard penalty. He also believes Chester may have been trying to hurt him.

No it's not hypocritical... this is just more media takin something someone said out of context and making it seem like he meant something he didn't...

you can hurt guys with clean hits. and that's what he's talking about. just like Briggs or Harris "laying the wood". your not gonna try to hit a guy with the intentions of making him fell warm an fuzzy. this is football... your trying to make the guy think twice about getting up.

as for shooting out at a guys knees on a FIELD GOAL/EXTRA POINT?... that's a BLATANT cheap shot, and the two are no where NEAR comparable.

    No one mentioned knees.

This isn't hypocritical, IMO. Harrison needs to correct his bad tackling habit of leading with his helmet. Just that simple.

No one mentioned them in this thread. in the post game interview yes. from the quick look I got on the replay, yes.
Chester shoots out early, gets under his pads, and dives. had chester gone on the snap and not jumped, he would have hit him in the knees. you don't shoot out of the hole on an XP like that. it was freaking blatant and anyone with two eyes can see it.

Did not see a replay, just reading the thread. Thought you mistook the word drove for dove. My bad.

I'd go with hypocrite...If I understand it correctly, a large part of Harrison's argument is you can't place motive and intention of spilt second, re-active, instinctive football behavior…only Chester really knows what he was or wasn't thinking or trying to do....

OK, it wasn't a cheap shot. He hits him square in the shoulders to begin with, then leans in to the next hit only to miss because Harrison is backing out. Only then did Terry get near the knees, and while falling down.
