Banned substance violation.
Word is that he isn't appealling.

But what does it all mean?
Could very well mean he isn't playing sunday, he didn't practice yesterday for a mysterious reason.
It's going to be hard for them to match up against us with ten players on D.
I think I'm finally figuring this crazy football game out.
From the Boston Herald:
Patriots LB Brandon Spikes, on his suspension: “It was not a performance enhancer or an illegal drug.”
http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sp...t-practice.jpgYou read earlier that Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes has been suspended four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances. He will not appeal and will be eligible to return following the final regular-season game against Miami.
Just now, Spikes released a statement. This is what he said:
“I’ve been contacted by the NFL and informed that I will be suspended four games for the detection of an illegal substance in a drug test. The substance was a medication that I should have gotten clarification on before taking. It was not a performance enhancer or an illegal drug. The integrity of the game is very important to me. I understand the league’s ruling and apologize to my teammates, the fans and the Patriots organization for this mistake.”
I liked his response, he owned up to it; while not admitting the illegal aspect.
Yeah, owning up to it is big for him. He has character. I have to respect a guy like that.
Now it's a matter of how losing him will effect New England's defense.
