I like Singletary and idk if he ever will be a quality HC. But seriously the guy should have at least run a top 5 def as a DC before being given a HC job. If he cant do that which is his specialty he never deserved the chance in the first place. And 49ers put allot of draft picks and cap space into that defense for it to not have clicked before he became HC.

ski you still would take Singletay over Lovie? lol told you so lmfao

Lovie Smith, Mike Martz, Mike Tice, Rod Marinelli, Mike Singletary. Sounds good to me!

    Doesn't sound good to me.

Why hire him? What has he done to prove he knows what he is doing? What success has he ever had?

Do I want him? Let him answer the question himself

I'm talking about as a position coach, Benj. I think he could teach Urlacher and Briggs more techniques that even they as advanced players don't know.

He couldn't teach them anything they don't already know. Briggs is well on his way to being one of (if not the) greatest OLB in Bears history.
Urlacher already one of, if not the best LB in Bears history.

He would be riding their coat tails in an effort to get another job.

I don't want him on our staff, I don't think we need him.

But it would be a chance to put a Bears man in position to be an assistant coach on the team. He wouldn't be the DC.

I would rather have a competent coach who has shown success elsewhere than a former Bear player as a positional coach. I know he wouldn't be the DC. And I would not hire him just because he is a former Bear.

So, you wouldn't hire Leslie Frazier either if for some reason Rod Marinelli wasn't living up to Lovie Smith's expectations because he was a former Bear? That's a truly illogical thought, Benji.

Not reading what I am saying Dag.

I would not hire someone JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE A FORMER BEAR.

Frazier? I would look into him, but I would not give him any added advantage because he happens to be a former Bears player.

Benji, thanks for clearing up what you were saying. You sounded like you were saying that if they were former Bears, you wouldn't hire them. I couldn't understand the logic behind that claim.
