I don't know who I would least like to see in the Super Bowl should we advance that far - the Patriots, the Steelers, or the Ravens. The Steelers game would likely provide a low scoring game, but Cutler would have to make smart decisions or else Troy Polamalu will have his ass all evening, and the offensive line will have to block that vaunted zone blitz that Dick LeBeau throws at teams, and then there is the worry that comes from trying to run on the Steelers. We know what we would get from the Patriots: the most powerful offense in pro football along with an opportunistic defense. The Ravens are more human than the other two, but they have a steady mixture of pass, run that can be stopped by the Bears defense. Once again, though, it will be that killer defense that we would have to penetrate with Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Terrell Suggs being Pro Bowl caliber players.

I would love to play the Jets again if I had to pick which of the four AFC teams I was going to face. We would need to cover better than what we did against them a few weeks back as well as put more pressure on Mark Sanchez.

This is one of the only times he's done that this season (he's done it countless times in previous), but he couldn't have picked a worse time to start. We were ahead, the Eagle defense was reeling and we started becoming predictable with run run run punt (which has been all too common when the run has been successful for us this season, it almost seems as if McCarthy is trying to prove our run game doesn't suck by overdoing it when we're actually able to run the ball in a game).

The repercussions of our victory? The bottom line is the Falcons are a very beatable team. We came within a last second FG of beating them in week 12. Will it be an easy game to win? Not unless the Falcons implode. The game can go either way, but if the Packers play the way they have the past few weeks combined with our new found run game I'm quite confident we can beat them. Should we fail, however, I'm pretty sure the Bears are capable of beating them as well.

As for the future, if it were me I'd rather play the Falcons than the Packers. With the Falcons, what you see is what you'll get. However, with the divisional matchup with the Packers we never really know what we're going to get. More than likely it will be another low scoring defensive battle with the winner being the one that makes the fewest mistakes.

Lastly, the Falcons didn't manhandle us in week 12, and I don't see that happening on Saturday either. I expect a close game most likely coming down to the final tick of the clock once again, possibly even overtime. If we get up on them, McCarthy needs to keep his foot on the gas pedal and not let up for even one drive because a team like the Falcons WILL make you pay for that.
The packers are the only team that worries me. I am not worried about the seahawks or falcons. I think playing the same team 3 times is tough.

Luckily, there was no consequence for losing to the Packers or I would be sitting here, calling for Lovie Smith's ouster as head coach. I tend to agree with you that I thought that Green Bay should have scored at least two more times to seal the deal in Philadelphia. Twenty-one points on the Philadelphia Eagles is hardly a safe bet that you're going to win; the Eagles made a furious comeback effort against the Bears back on November 28 that, had the game not been dominated for three quarters by Chicago, could have easily been a reversal of fortune and a win instead for Philadelphia. I was a little shocked that Mike McCarthy played it so conservatively; it reminds me of Johnny Majors back when he coached at Tennessee from 1977-1992. He would keep the foot on the accelerator for 2 1/2 to 3 quarters of play, only to sit on leads in the last quarter of the game, and I distinctly remember one game in 1992 at Neyland Stadium where he did this and it cost us the game on a last second field goal against Arkansas, and it resulted in us not getting to play Alabama the next week as two teams with undefeated, 6-0 records.

You are right - Mike McCarthy CANNOT afford to be conservative against the Falcons, or they will eat his lunch for him. I have a feeling that we are going to see a third Bears/Packers game in what will be the most meaningful game between the two in the history of the rivalry. I dare say that Mike Martz isn't going to pussyfoot around this time by going away from the run, and this time, he will run to set up the playaction pass. I know you are excited at the prospect of a third Bears/Packers match up, as am I. I will go ahead and make predictions for the Divisional Round right now:

    Bears 34, Seahawks 13; Packers 24, Falcons 20.
You heard it hear, Bears fans: Dagan81 is going to be a Packer Backer next week. I want the Packers so bad that I can taste it.
I hate the packers and I don't want to play them a 3rd time this year.

It's all about revenge, 4th. Never back down from a challenge. That's one lesson I've learned as a Yankees fan. You take on all comers. If you can win the games that matter, you didn't deserve to go play for the championship to begin with.

So you're saying that only teams that can't win games that matter deserve to play in the championship?

Hey, I'm a Packer fan. I can barely type without drooling all over myself so you have to be perfectly clear when you post things!
