Source: Vikings considered trading for Orton
| A little birdie says the Vikings considered trading for Denver quarterback Kyle Orton but have backed off. But it wasn't because of any progress made by Joe Webb, who insiders say is nowhere close to being an effective starter.

if those are the same "insiders" that said Tavaris Jackson should be a starter, GOOD. I'd rather not face Orton twice a year, if only for the fact that he's at least adequate and could help that offense out more than Joe webb ever could.

Thought Webb did a lot rght in the games he played, esp in the upset of the eagles... Not sure how good he can be, but showed enough in 2010 IMO to "be in the mix"

To me, at least against the Bears, he'll be just like Vick, a scrambling QB that can beat some really good teams, but just can't handle our defense. And seeing how the Packers are the team for us to beat next year, I would say we are the team the vikes gotta beat.

well to be fair, webb literally came in cold, when the princess diva knocked out of game, so give him the benefit of doubt and not suprising in his first NFL time, he struggled .. that's why the next week when played alot better against philly, more an indication as had time to digest a game plan and actually practice with team all week

The Broncos have gone on record as saying they want at least a 2nd round pick for him. The Vikes may be the only team crazy enough to do it. After all, look what the gave up for Herschel Walker, LOL.
