That play should have never happened in the first place because a complete idiot with 1/10th of a brain would have put 2 or 3 players on Calvin Johnson. In this case a rule bailed out Rod Marinelli.

and from today's meeting this should help hester, moving the kickoff's back to the 35


KICKOFF CHANGES?
• Competition committee will propose moving kickoff to 35-yard line, and bringing touchback out to 25. No changes for touchbacks on any other plays, with ball coming out to 20.
• No player other than kicker would be allowed to line up more than 5 yards behind ball.
• Outlawing wedge on kickoffs; all blocking wedges were reduced to two players in 2009.
REPLAY CHANGES?
• Committee will propose making all scoring plays reviewable. Replay official would order replays on any touchdowns, field goals, safeties and extra points without the coaches needing to challenge. Similar to current system for final two minutes of each half and overtime.
• Eliminating third coach's challenge if he is successful on first two. NFL SCHEDULE

Not sure how Hester benefits from that or were you just kidding. Seems to me that there'll be more touchbacks and who's gonna care if it goes to the 25 instead of the 20 when kicking to Hester usually means the 35, 40 or more.

Well, it is on kickoffs, where Hester rarely takes returns anymore. Normally he is on punts.

wanted the rolling eyes icon and got it wrong, yeah sarcastically,, not sure why the NFL wants no more kick off's.. but they had something like 25% of kicks from 30 were touchbacks last year, move it to the 35 and probably be above 50 % in 2011..

My God, it's an anti Devin Hester rule. They're scared shitless of him and want to take the ball out of his hands. He should sue!!!! LOL

Eh, if it was a rule changing punts, I'd be more pissed. Hester does not do many kickoffs any more
