Phillips, Bears Willing To Open Books........
According to Ted Phillips the Bears have become the 2nd NFL team, the Broncos are the other, who are willing to open their books in order to get a new CBA deal done. This will almost certainly begin to put pressure on others to do the same.

To get deal done, Bears would open books

Another team has said it is willing to open the books, if it helps to reach a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Bears president Ted Phillips told the Chicago Sun-Times, "If the league feels, to get a deal done, they need to release (financials), we're on board. I'm actually proud of how we operate our club. We think we do a good job, revenue-wise and expense-wise."
The Broncos have previously said they would also open their books if it means a deal could get done.
The NFL locked out the players on March 11 after the NFLPA decertified, as the two sides have been unable to agree on a new CBA. One of the main issues is how to split $9 billion of revenue. The players have asked for 10 years of financial records from the 32 teams to see proof that the league's profits are down.

This begs the question, if the Bears and Broncos are willing to open up their books and Green Bay's are a matter of public record anyway why don't the rest of the owners just offer to do it as well? I've already said that it may make no difference whatsoever as far as settling the actual number they agree on. But if two are willing to do it why not the other 29?
It's pretty obvious the Bears and Broncos believe they have nothing to hide but who does? Is the lack of disclosure all about competitive advantage or is there really something in there that a few do not want others to see?

Will one of the admins please merge this thread with DB54's in the other forum? No sense having the same thing in two places. Thanks.

What thread did DB54 start that is relative to this topic? I may already have it, but have not look upon it in a bit. I am still catching up from being off the site for the past couple of days.

It has roughly the same title. Look farther down the page in Bears Football or on page 2 Dags. It's there somewhere.
