    Mis-Information and the Draft [NFP]

    http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...the-draft.html

"While I was with the Bears, I would change things every year so the media could not be certain as to why we were doing things. One year I may bring in for visits many of the players we were interested in and the next year not bring in any and then the next year only guys we may want as potential free agents. Of course then there were some years when you would bring in the big “smoke screen” candidate only to let other clubs “think” we were interested in that player. I felt you could never have a pattern on how you did business; you have to change from year to year especially when dealing with the draft. If I was ever asked about a certain player’s injury, I would always say that it was a concern even if it wasn’t. If that answer would throw off what a few clubs thought we may want to do then it was the right answer." - Greg Gabriel

This is the one that I have been noticing and this is a big conspiracy theory,

There are 6 OL players that are expected to be consensus 1st round picks and we a have been linked to a lot of them,

Sherrod, pre draft and Senior Bowl Rumblings.

Carimi, combine news and pro day.

    Pouncey, Combine and Pro Day

Costanzo, combine and news story about him being from Chicago.

Smith, Nothing, but probably long gone by our range.

Solder, The Bears are desperate at LT and yet there is no mention of Solder and the Bears.

    I do not know.

Should I take it that you are glad we are not talking about Solder because you are not a fan of Solder.

You know me Windy. I just think we shouldn't be drafting anybody at #29 who we aren't sure can start this year. I don't think Solder fit's that category that's all. PFW's latest mock has NE taking him at #28 and we take Liuget at #29. As much as I doubt this mock is the way the draft will go, for instance, I don't see the Broncos taking Patrick Peterson with Fairley or Dareus still on the board, I'd love it if we did get Liuget and then took one of your 2nd tier OT's in round two.

I like that the Bears switch stuff up to be unpredictable. Unfortunately it means we, as fans, have to wish/hope/pray for what we individually want and just wait until the draft plays out to get any clue what might happen.

I think that's fine for gamesmanship that they don't show their tells like in poker. But if your a team that wants to consider contacting a team in brokering a trade up or down that might throw a little wrench in the works if your too obtuse.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

    An epic debate indeed.

Like a couple of border collies chasing their tails and the others tail.

Someone give me some real news or I think my head might explode with all the possibilities.

Well Ted Phillips said the Bears are ready to drop trou on the financial issues that are holding up CBA negotiations. That's real news isn't it?
