It's bad enough that we have one player marrying a celebrity (Jay Cutler), but I really don't want to get involved with someone who was dating a Kardashian, ya know? lol.
Really, I agree DB, Bush is not a power back. I would probably wait until next year's draft and take someone like John Clay out of the University of Wisconsin to take the place of Chester Taylor, depending on when Taylor's contract ends and if he does/does not improve his stats in the coming season.

Unless we improve the interior with guards and a new center the interior run game will continue to suffer.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

We have more than enough talent at RB (Taylor is a little sketchy and although Bell and Unga haven't proven anything, Bush has proven he's not a Chicago Bear-type running back). Now if he could also play WR well, then maybe, but he's unproven, and we have enough of that on the team already.

I believe that if people really think that Cwill, Kreutz, and Garza are going to be able to push the pile on short yardage and goal-line offense they have another thing coming. Playing Detroit will be quite the measuring stick.

Well, if you can't run through them, run around them. That's what we did all season last year, and it worked out just fine. We couldn't run it up the gut last season at all, but we ran the pigskin off tackle and well, Forte average 4.5 yards per carry.

We're going to be addressing that issue in free agency.

I have no confidence in Chester Taylor after watching the guy not even average three yards per carry. I think the statistic was at 2.4 yards, and that just won't get it done. John Clay is a big guy and could be converted into a fullback as well as a battering ram running back. Watching some tape of him against Ohio State, he was absolutely brutal, as were all the running backs that accompanied him in the backfield for the University of Wisconsin (thanks in no small part to guys like Carimi and Moffitt). I think that Clay would be an excellent draft choice for us next year should we get the opportunity to get him.

We did that with Webb. Good teams are going to be able to defend just running left or right esp teams with good defensive lines. To get to the next level you have to be able to punch it in from the goalline. I am not Chester Taylor's biggest fan but with a interior that has zero punch at the line and allowed 56 sacks and 92 qb hits it's tough running for ANYONE.
I really hope your right about getting a OG in FA Dags.

Really short faced bear, getting an OG in free agency only makes sense because Jerry Angelo has a history of signing key contributors that are free agents. Look at last season as proof. If a deal is ever reached over the CBA, I suspect that the Bears will sign as many as three free agents, but certainly no fewer than two. If I had my druthers, I would sign Sidney Rice (though he's going to want top dollar) or Malcolm Floyd at WR, one of the many free agent OGs that are going to be available, and perhaps a CB like Ike Taylor who has been a force with the Pittsburgh Steelers. (I would say Nnamdi Asomugha, but he is simply going to be too expensive for us to take a serious look at unless, by dent of the fact that he failed to live up to the terms of his contract according to a friend of mine who is a huge Oakland Raiders fan, his asking price comes down some, and then Jerry Angelo considers taking him on.) To paraphrase Bill Parcells, if one is given the keys to kitchen, he should have to buy the groceries as well. Jerry Angelo has some work to do, and I expect that at the strength of his job (signing quality free agents), he will do just that to the best of his ability.

If we are able to get a OG, WR Rice, and P Weatherford I would be ecstatic. Getting Asomugha would be otherworldly-we could conceiveably need him to defend the Packers WR's.

The problem with going after Asomugha is that his price tag potentially is going to be through the roof. He may be able to be had at a bargain since he was released by the Raiders for not fulfilling the terms of his contract in terms of this past season's statistics. Still, he didn't come from a traditional zone defense like the one Lovie Smith has implemented with the Bears, so he may not be ideally suited to play defense for us anyway. I personally would love it if we signed him, but I just doubt seriously in my heart of hearts that it will happen.
