Bush, Saints expected to part ways
NEW YORK – Running back Reggie Bush’s days with the New Orleans Saints all but came to an end Thursday night when the team selected running back Mark Ingram with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft.
“It’s been fun New Orleans,” Bush posted on his Twitter page Thursday night. Bush was not expected to return to the Saints next season regardless of what the team did because he has so far declined to take a pay cut when the subject was broached before the NFL lockout began. Bush is due approximately $11.8 million in the 2011 season in base salary and bonuses. Bush said in January that he didn’t expect to return to the team. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2006 draft, he played a critical role in reviving the Saints after Hurricane Katrina and helped the team to the Super Bowl title in the 2009 season. However, Bush was constantly limited by injuries and never developed into a consistent pure running back. He played in only 60 of 80 regular-season games and missed eight games with a broken leg last season. He was more successful as a pass receiver, but the Saints aren’t expected to keep him just for that skill at his current price, a source familiar with the situation said. In five years, Bush rushed 524 times for 2,090 yards and caught 294 passes for 2,142 yards. He scored 29 touchdowns combined on offense. Bush was a favorite of coach Sean Payton, who defended him constantly as Bush was shrouded in controversy from his days at the University of Southern California and eventually returned his Heisman Trophy. After Ingram was selected, the source said, “This just makes the whole thing easier for everybody.”

Too bad he's that expensive otherwise I'd grab him in a heartbeat.

with forte he doesn't have any uses on bears, he's a third down specialist on swing passes( forte does this already) and returner( we have this hester guy who is also pretty good there).. So not a good fit at all- Also if the saints release him, he has no contract , so you could sign him for anything- though doubt he isn't thinking he will get a big payday.. for bears much better uses of $$ then a rb, who can't carry the ball inside or 15+ times a game

bush blocks as well as wolfe, and taylor is a better inside runner( which is alot more about how bad bush is, than taylor good)and it would be Forte, taylor and bell not wolfe for 2011 anyway-.. not sure as different as "hype" indicates.. and again , we need backs to give forte a breather, not a back that can't run inside and only can give forte a breather on 3rd down, where he's one of the best in league and don't want on bench, a bad bad fit... and a bad use of cap space

Manning is gonna leave Chicago in FA so Bush could become the #2 returner behind Hester.

All indications are 2011 will be back to 2010 rules, which means Manning stays a bear as a 1 yr RFA under his $1.14 million tender, he was given back in march, FWIW and aagin why pay millions to be a back up both as a rb and a kicker returner to hester? doesn't make sense

I definitely wouldn't want Reggie Bush in Chicago. He's completely overrated as a running back and I would much rather have Hester and Knox returning kicks this year than Bush.

Id heard earlier yesterday that NO plans on keeping him. Not sure how many RB's they need, but whateva.
