LOL yep soul- not sure how getting $50 million dollars is a "bad business move".. or going froma team that didn't make the playoff's( and lost 20 of 24 games) with an awful "D", to a 11-5 teams that made the NFC Championship is anything BUT A SMART BUSINESS BUSINESS DECISION..and not that Cutler seems to care, but "IF" he wants to market himself also a very smart business move going to the #2 NFL market rom not even a top 10 by numbers,so even in that a very smart business move

You can't argue with some people, DB. Some people believe that being traded away from the team who drafted you marks you as a bad apple. Cutler was in a bad situation in Denver and he knew it. Luckily, God was smiling on him and us when he got traded to the Bears!

I really think Cutler is going to win at least one Super Bowl for us if we continue to surround him with top notch talent. This draft and the 2008 drafts were the best that the Bears have had in several years. I think ESPN graded the 2008 draft a B-, which is very respectable, while this draft preliminarily goes as a grade A/A-. 2009 and 2010 weren't as good because we didn't have as many draft picks in the early rounds to choose from as a result of the trade for Jay Cutler, but even in 2009, we were able to draft Johnny Knox, who I think has to potential to become a star wide receiver for this team for a long time to come.

hope its more than 1 though : )

And agree the drafts have gotten better and we are "close".. have to see how the 2nd year in same system goes, which is why really want the CBA and a full camp

The 2009-10 drafts weren't all that bad when you consider that we got a franchise QB out of those two first round picks that we traded and a very good WR for the exchange of a third for a 5th. When you consider that it would have taken a first to get Cutler to begin with and that Knox is worth every bit as much as the third we traded away all that we're really out is a 2010 first rounder.

Looking at the rest of the 2010 draft we got one starting OT (Webb), a rotating Safety (Wright), a rotating DE (Wootton) and a possible starter at CB (Moore). If all of these guys become starters or even major contributors then you have to give the Bears at least a B or higher for that draft and considering that we didn't have a pick before the third round you might even rate it higher.

Of the 2009 and 2010 Drafts, I think the jury is still out on them. Sure, in 2009, we gave up a 1st and a 3rd Round pick as well as the 1st Round pick for 2010 for Jay Cutler and, ultimately, Johnny Knox. I think we know what we got in Cutler: a quarterback who I think will lead us to the promised land, while getting to draft Knox in the 5th round of the 2009 draft. I think Knox is going to wind up being a star WR for us in the future, and will have multiple 1,000+ yard seasons. We will have to wait and see about Major Wright, Joshua Moore, and Corey Wooten, but the latter of the three defensive players has already been making waves when he subs for either Peppers or Idonije, just ask Brett Favre. As far as Wright and Moore are concerned, the jury is still out on them. I think Moore will get a job as a starter before Wright will, to be totally honest.

Wright was already starting before his injury.. moore had barely seen the field, much less close to starting dagan, def. think wright starts before moore and be shocked if moore isn't the starting FS in 2011 and moore just a dime player for 2011

Do you think that we will more than likely see Zack Bowman manning the side of the field opposite Charles Tillman at CB?

I don't know if there are any free agent corners on the market that the Bears are dying to get a hold of. Outside of maybe Ike Taylor and Richard What's-His-Last-Name, I don't really see anyone that blows up my skirt to get.
