    Raiders- 50% attendence and only 1 sell out

    OUCH!! knew they were bad .. NOT this bad- this is the other side of league away from chicago's sellout's and decade+ waiting list...man crazy Al sure screwed the pooch here~
    ====================

    To avoid a pay cut, employees must sell season tickets worth 10 percent of their salary during the lockout. For example, an employee making $60,000 a year would have to sell $500 worth of season tickets for each month of the lockout, which began March 12.
    The cheapest season tickets for the Raiders cost $260 per year, with the most expensive non-club seats going for $960 annually
    .
    The Raiders were last in the league in attendance last year, averaging about 46,430 fans per home game and selling out the approximately 63,000-seat stadium just once. Oakland had an extremely low season-ticket base as evidenced by the crowd of 32,218 for a game against Houston on Oct. 3, the smallest in Oakland since 1967.
    The Raiders have had just two sellouts the past two seasons. They have had 83 of 128 regular-season games blacked out locally on television because games did not sell out since returning to Oakland in 1995.

    Hahaha, kind of like owning the very first "Dirt Burger" franchise. No matter how good your national advertising campaign is if nobody likes the taste then nobody will buy. The Raiders are the NFL's "Dirt Burger" franchise and Al Davis in costume is Ronald McDirt. LOL

    LOL.. yep.. BUT this soul is becoming the "problem" of the NFL.. I can't imagine the "have's( bears, dallas, giants redskins etc)- now that the economy has turned south, will not want to redirect some of the funds they earn back to themselves, over letting Crazy al, and teams like panthers/jax, sit back and make $$$$ , despite not doing a thing to improve the product or brand. Right now despite a 1/2 empty stadium- because the NFL revenue split- he will still either make money, or lose very little, despite the ncompetence. I mean 70% of games blacked out kills ratings, which lowers revenue to the rest of league.Will be interesting to see at the owner's meeting how the deal with the 2 tier's after get a new CBA

    It's a shame that players can get cut without pay when they can't hack but you can't do the same with an owner. I guess if it get too bad Al will just sue somebody again.

    Headline news: In a misguided attempt at restoring fiscal balance to his Raiders, today Al Davis filed suit in Federal Court against his own season ticket holders for not showing up to games and bringing a friend. "How long do they expect us to stay in Oakland under these conditions", said Davis. Though pressed for time Davis indicated that he was on his way to meet with the Governor of Nevada concerning moving his team to Reno in exchange for a percentage of that cities sports book.

    Well becuase the CBA stuff now Soul, owner's will keep quite until AFTER its settled(solidarity and all), then can see some big changes coming, and its not just football, baseball just took back the dodger's and threatening to do that with met's if the wilpon's do not get a new partner( and did with expo's a few years back).. hockey did it with pheonix and threatened the islander's and the NBA if the rumor's are true have 20 teams losing money now, so expect a loooong and ugly work stoppage there to fix that kind of problem( see hockey 2005)... Just feel weahve reached the 'tipping point" in big time Sports of not beng able to pass on all costs anymore- and has to make economic sense for ALL parties, and can't jsut screw the fans with higher and higher prices that worked in 80's and 90's...

    Look at the raiders- their lowest seaon ticket is $260.00!!( that's $26 a game) and still can't sell it out.. panther's is $29/game... that is VAST difference to places like chicago/Ne/NY where $65 is the cheapest and people happy for that. That kind of disparity isn't good on many levels

    Yeah and the most expensive one is just $120. I'll bet it's double that for a 49ers game. I guess all the crazy biker bastards and chica's who supported the team for so long have finally grown up and decided to stop getting stupid drunk and supporting the team.

    lol wtf...he thinks attendance will increase in a shithole like RENO? Oh wait thats right, he just wants a cut of gambling profits, since those are recession proof.

    LOL the 'black hole" at the stadium .. is now the "gray hole".. : )

    just think the bigger and bigger disparity that keeps happening and with the huge debt even the "have's" have incurred, there is going to be a "reckoning" with these low revenue teams, after a new CBA finishes.. can't see how it will not happen, its crazy the differences and its growing

    It's original thought but come to think of it writing for the Onion would be fun. All I'd have to do is move from Denver to Boulder the city of "25 square miles surrounded by reality", LOL.
