That would be hilarious if the band wound up getting a record contract with some big label. I wonder what Elway would do then? I don't know if he could do anything since there is/was a band called The Dead Kennedys back in the day. It's not as if he's a brand name anyway.

The lead signer was railing on Johnny horse teeth. Said they were touring the country playing to 30 people. Said the only reason they chose the name was b/c it's big in Denver where they are based. And like Rome pointed out; this is a punk rock band, their used to fighting and pushing buttons...what the hell was Johnny thinking trying to push this?
My take, much like everyone elses, don't do anything. Chances are they don't last anyways. But now you have a good portion of the country interested.

Well if they're touring and only playing to 30 people at most gigs they do need a little push publicity wise. Therefore calling themsleves Elway wasn't such a dumb idea and John gave them a much needed push when he complained. Despite that the truth of the matter is that any punk bad is unlikely to get a deal from a major label these day. That's indie material around here.
Colorado spawned some great bands back in the 70's; The Dirt Band, Firefall, Sugar Loaf, The Loggins and Mesina Band, Poco, Earth, Wind and Fire members Philip Bailey, Ralph Johnson, and Andrew Woolfolk all of whom got national attention and major label deals but there hasn't been much that's come out of here since except some some very good musicians who usually go elsewhere to make it. The only band of note from the last decade or two is Big Head Todd and the Monsters.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Knoxville, TN is known as "the cradle of country music." Hence, I would imagine, there are more people around here who probably jump off balconies and slit their wrists to cease the pain caused by listening to most of it.

they should change their name to "Horseface, the band formerly known as Elway"
