And for those that don't know the backround, peppers and farther not close.. or have ever been FWIW, just a little backround:

They are far from it. While Brinkley raised Julius and his older brother and sister in a double-wide trailer, Kearney was around town, working construction, doing some carpentry. He'd pop up here and there, at an occasional game, maybe a chance meeting with Julius at a store. He does the same now.

But it doesn't feel right to Peppers, who says he can pick up a vibe from people, "a gift I got that tells me what their intentions and motives are."

"We weren't tight," he says of his father. "I mean, I didn't call him up all the time, nothing like that. It was kind of awkward, and it still is now. I can't really get into depth with him in conversation. I really don't feel comfortable talking to him like that. I just don't."

yep if wasn' a superstar like Pepper's wouldn't have bothered, but figure this story will probably go national over the next few hours..
