Question Instant debate: Eli, Rivers or Big Ben?

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...rafted-in-2004

Eli Manning (No. 1), Philip Rivers (No. 4) and Ben Roethlisberger (No. 11) were the first quarterbacks selected in the 2004 NFL Draft, and all three have become top-flight NFL players. But if you had to pick only one to lead your team, who would it be?

I'm real satisfied with Cutler who I believe will have a better career than Big Ben or Eli. If I couldn't have Cutler I'd take Phillip Rivers. To me he's the only one from that list who I believe may be better than Jay.

I would take Peyton Manning if he were an option.

Cutler then Rivers-though I wonder about Rivers arm strength at times.

People have wondered about that ever since he came into the league and all he's done is prove that his arm is plenty strong, his release very quick and he's a very smart QB. He's a cocky ahole but he wins and on the Bears he'd be a little like McMahon was. Doesn't have Cutler's arm but his intangibles are better.

In the pocket I'd agree but on the run or flushed I think it is wanting. I've seen him on short 10 yd out routes near the GL where flushed (but not sprinting) he threw short time after time. Of course I do see him throw some nice in the pocket stuff. Throwing strength on the run I think Cutler wins that one.

    Yea... that.

Has Rivers ever had a good post-season? You know.... when it counts?

He's the fricken Romo of California....

Yeah, Rivers is definitely not a scrambler. But in the pocket he's a lot like Rodgers. He can carve you to pieces if he has time and he doesn't make many mistakes which is where he outstrips Cutler by a wide margin.

Defense wins championships and the Chargers usually lack one. Put Rivers on a team like the Bears with a great defense and he'll be a winner. He also doesn't fumble holds for FG's and XP's like Romo, LOL.
