Owners, players huddle for third straight week
This time, Maryland's eastern shore the backdrop Brad Biggs
Clandestine meetings that began in suburban Chicago at the beginning of the month resumed again today on Maryland’s eastern shore, according to Albert Breer of the NFL Network.
Key NFL owners have huddled with NFLPA boss DeMaurice Smith and players again, the third set of secret meetings in as many weeks, and the surest sign a deal could be in place in coming weeks.
Perhaps the sides took to heart what Judge Kermit Bye of the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals said at the close of their hearing June 4 when he urged the sides to settle the matter themselves. It’s these face-to-face meetings which are believed to be creating real momentum, but both sides remain silent.
Owners have a meeting scheduled for Chicago next Tuesday at which point they could discuss the progress made in labor talks with the lockout now entering its fourth month.
A deal needs to be in place in the relative near future in order to ensure training camps can open on time following a player acquisition period.

This is nothing new. It just regurgitates facts that we already know are either in place or should happen, and need to happen. However, the Maryland site is news. I can't figure out for the life of me why they would be skipping around the country like that other than to maintain a cloak of "secrecy," which in this case, isn't so secret.

So they can get paid to take vacations? (shrugs)

I do, and many professionals/non professionals in the work force do get paid to take vacations....it's called paid vacation...and it rocks. I'll be heading to Indiana for a week to see family and friends, and will be paid well for it ;p

most likely because, these owner's have even bigger and more important businesses to take care of( i know.. shocking the world doesn't really revolve around football), and as such probably the different meetings places are to center a few of them with their other businesses and meetings there.

Well, when they're sitting at a round table at the Bunny Ranch in Nevada with their pants down at their ankles, you can be assured that they will not be out collecting for the Red Cross.
