Where in the blue hell did you come up with this logic, 4th...lol!? The chances of Detroit taking the division are not very good, especially with two excellent teams in front of them (the Bears and Packers). Yeah, Detroit will have a good defensive line, what what else will they have? They have one of the best WR in the NFL in Calvin Johnson on offense, but a quarterback who can't stay off of injured reserve in Matthew Stafford. I fear for Stafford that he may well become a bust because of his injury problems, which will prove costly for the Lions because they paid a shit bunch up front for him. Jahvid Best has been a decent running back, and they have a decent offensive line, but they are so young that that youth is going to need to gel. I don't doubt for minute that the Lions will be good. My question is "when" will it happen. They need stability at quarterback, and need some talented defensive backs because what they have right now sure isn't getting the job done. I see Detroit as a 9-7 team at best season.

Speaking of which, Benji, what happened to the Cubbies last night against the might of the New York Yankees?

You mean the team that there is no excuse to lose to? How the hell do the Yanks lose by two on Friday and barely beat them yesterday? I thought the Yanks were supposed to be a good team! Barely able to beat the Cubs.... disgraceful!

That's baseball. We could spot the Cubs a series sweep and still wind up getting in the playoffs. Where will that leave the Cubbies? LAST PLACE!

All the same, the mighty Yankees should not be losing to the Cubs.

Okay this thread sucks. In 4ths defense, If Matthew Stafford can stay healthy, how do you know they couldn't win the division? they have a better line than we do on both sides, and the makings of a better (and younger) running game. Not to mention one of the best WR's in the game as well. They beat the packers, and almost beat us twice. I really don't think they will, but it's "any given sunday" for a reason.....

Stafford has yet to play an entire season. He was injured not once but TWICE last season which knocked him out of games. He's made of glass. Their offensive line is still mediocre, their defensive backfield still blows goats, and CJ is the only threat they have on offense. Their DL is the only even remotely scary part of this team, and that can be remedied by keeping extra blockers in or using quick passes. I have a better chance of winning the lottery than the Lions have of winning the North, let alone making the playoffs.
