I dont care what the record is, showing confidence that your team can make noise and could win the Super Bowl should be applauded.
Seriously, what should he have said in your opinion if asked what he felt about the chances this year?
Suh has made a name for himself last year so I doubt many people would be calling him an idiot for saying the lions could be superbowl bound or be 16-0. The guy is a beast and I would love to have him on our team but instead we will probably watch him retire a few quarterbacks over his career. Just like you said, if Urls had said this we would be praising him for his words and his attitude.

Same with him. Do I think they will make the Super Bowl? Hell no. But I applaud him for saying his team could get there.
He is shooting for the top, as all players should. I believe even you used that argument at one time or another for the bears
as said difference is between a team WITH A PROVEN RECORD, and the players having confidence can do better and a team that just went 0-16, 2 years ago and hasn't even had a winning record in over a decade , but you ignore this.. so no use debating it further. So if cade mcclow had bragged the bears would be going 16-0 in 1999 and win the superbowl, you would not have criticuzed this and thought it was 'grea and smart"? and not just cadebeing an arrogant jerk?.. Guess I doubt that

I would have strongly disagreed, but never would have said I did not want to hear our players being confident
-
By te way, he did not say they would, just that they could.

St louis Rams sucked in the entire 90's yet in 99 became the superbowl champs.

well lebron just said the heat COULD win not 1 not 2 but 7 champsionshiops.. not that they WOULD, just could.. and seems most( incuding you) take that different, and didnt praise it, why is that?

Further more. He never even said they could make the Super Bowl. Only time it was mentioned was when he went on to say
"if you dont want to be a super bowl team, what are you playing for?"
Do you agree with that quote DB?

Jilted personal feelings on his not coming here, mixed in with his team celebrating a championship before it was won.
I like players having confidence, as said before, and as said before i may not believe it either.

As said before benj, think all athlet's beleive they will in, but NO NEED FOR PUBLIC DECLARATIONS OF THIS, a simple " we expect to keep improving" will Suffice, instead of putting "bull's eye" and extra pressure with a "we will go 16-0 and win Sb" nonsense, esp when went 6-10 las year and will be bulletin board material now for all teams
