Quinn wants shot at Broncos' No. 1 QB job

Quinn joins Broncos workouts, says starting QB job is goal
Time for an altitude adjustment. Brady Quinn, saying he wanted to re-acclimate himself to Denver's elevation, became the third of the Broncos' three quarterbacks from the 2010 season to join his teammates for workouts this week, and he told The Denver Post that in spite of not playing a down last season he is aiming for the starting job. "I want to be No. 1," Quinn said. "I feel they (Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow) both had a chance last year and I didn't get an opportunity. I'd love to get an opportunity to help us win games and get this team to the playoffs and see what happens from there." The Broncos are coming off a disastrous season that included the midseason firing of coach Josh McDaniels, the man who traded a package that included running back and Madden NFL 12 cover boy Peyton Hillis for Quinn, and culminated with a 4-12 record. That led to the installation of Broncos legend John Elway as the team's chief football executive and the hiring of John Fox as coach. Orton has been the subject of trade rumors during the offseason and Tebow was a first-round pick in the 2010 draft. Quinn threw to wide receivers Brandon Lloyd, Matt Willis and Lance Ball and then took part in a one-hour, football-oriented workout under the supervision of a trainer. Haha, I didn't know Brady Quinn was such a joker.

Quinn was buried behind KO and that kid from TB who hadn't played in two years b/c of a broken spleen....So in essence he's a bigger bag of suck then Tebow, who hasn't really played at all, KO who has always been a average to below average guy, and a guy who hadn't played in 2 years. I'm stunned he's still on the team.

To think at one time, Brady Quinn was once regarded as one of the finest quarterbacks in his draft class.

oi, not by me...or anyone that watched him play against the top talent notre dame actually faced. Ya against the Navy's of the world he did fine, but against the USC's he got embarassed.

I think he did relatively well against USC in 2005. That game went right down to the wire. However, his 2006 season was pretty woeful, as he got whipped by USC, Michigan, and LSU in the Sugar Bowl.

I think Quinn had a hell of a hype machine coming out. Read so much propaganda on him next to Tebow I thought he was the second coming of Christ. Hell Jimmy Clausen looks all pro compared to him.

All Notre Dame players are hype...at least the ones over the past twenty-five years have been. Look at Ron Paulus? Remember him? Outside of Jerome Bettis, Rahib Ismail, and Jerome Bettis, name me one former Notre Dame player in the past 20-25 years that went on to have a decent pro career.

Add in a few more years and I would have said Montana lol.

Notre Dame is yesterday's news. They still feed off Knute Rockne's, Frank Leahy's, Ara Parseghian's, and Lou Holtz's jock strap. Notre Dame is way overrated, and unless Brian Kelly can bring them back from the brink, I just don't see them getting back to being the same glorious football school that they were just two decades ago.
