Redskins pull a fan out of stands to practice

another example of how not serious or physical these workouts are, but had to be awesome to be the fan!

Redskins pull a fan out of stands to practice with them

Josh Richards brought his cleats to workout Brad Biggs

While some NFL teams have chosen to close their player-run practices to media and fans alike, the Washington Redskins have opened up their drills.

In fact, things were so open this morning that a fan in the bleachers got the chance of a lifetime – an opportunity to practice with the team.

According to Shemar Woods of the Washington Post, linebacker London Fletcher asked a group of fans who had “brought their stuff.”

Josh Richards, a 28-year-old who had played at nearby Robinson High School in Fairfax, Va., laced up his cleats and went through drills with players on the field.
He dropped only one pass in an interception drill and he helped setting up cones for the drills.

“The terminology is crazy,” Richards said. “I told them I would be ready if they needed me.”

It's a fun story but it's also another exmaple of why player-run practices are completely overhyped.

Serious or not, they took a huge risk inviting him to practice, if he got injured, that couldve been a lawsuit.

who are you suing? the teams in a "lockout" so not sanctioned by teams.. workout's are a bunch of individuals.. so cant sue them for joining..so not sure who would be the lawsuit?

True, anybody who takes part does so at their own risk. Pretty much that same as a sand lot game with some pros joining in.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

yep... unless want to go after the school you are plaing on for a faulty field )... Thought it was a funny story, both foe how not serious the workouts were AND for how cool it would be to be picked... not sure if you remember Soul the crazy bear fan that dressed in his uni and zubaz by his Camaro, and would mimick the workout's with team when team was in platteville!.. He used to creep everyone else out- but this would have been his Dream!..LOL
