Rodgers-Cromartie AND and a draft pick? Are they crazy?
DRC has a fair amount of hype behind him. That' being said, he's still a starting CB. When Kolb played he looked like starting material. Granted, it can't be fairly labeled as concrete, but rare is the trade Starting QB for Starting CB, straight up. Philly is the seller here. I think a pick is fair, especially if it's a lower-round pick.
Kolb is stilll mostly unknown, he's looked good and not so good. There is no conclusive evidence one way or the other. I don't have so much a problem w/the player+pick, but the 2nd is too high. Your getting PHILLY's backup qb, he's not their starter; it's not worth both.
And 30 mil guaranteed in new contract to Kolb is what I was seeing reported.Quote:

Yeah, the second was a bit pricey, but Eagles were sellers, and AZ wants a young starting QB. The reason they hung onto Leinert for so long.
And I disagree with the notion Kolb is a back-up. If Vick hadn't caught on fire and became such a media sensation, I'm fairly certain Kolb would have been the starter for the season. Seems they played at equal levels when they were being switched in and out during Vick's injury periods.
Doesn't change the fact that he was not going to be the starter in Philly, therefore the backup.
But he was, remember?
What he was and is are two different things. Rex Grossman WAS a starter, and became a backup....think we could have got a top tier talent and a 2nd rounder for him?
