    Randy Moss Retires

Wide receiver Randy Moss will retire from the NFL after 13 seasons, ESPN reported Monday.

"After weighing his options and contemplating offers, he's decided to retire," said Joel Segal, Moss' agent. The report was confirmed by the NFL Network.

The 34-year-old became a free agent after playing for the New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans last season. He was traded twice during last season, but only caught six passes for 80 yards in the final eight games of the season with Tennessee.

Moss will leave the NFL as a lock for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, having recorded 954 career receptions for 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns.

The native of Rand, West Virginia, was drafted 21st overall in 1998 by the Minnesota Vikings out of Marshall University. He was named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1998, and went on to make seven Pro Bowls.

I'm not surprised he retired, he will probably be back sooner or later.

Word is the Eagles reached out to him AFTER he retired so I'll be shocked if he doesn't throw on some green wings in the near future and talk about killing dogs.

I read that too kegger and I'm willing to bet you're right BC. No way he stays out if Philly will take a chance on him. That team is going places this year and he loves being with a winner. He'll play.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Plus inside knowledge of what dogs to bet on, who could turn that down?

The Bears should reach out to him and sign him - now.

Never understood the reluctance on the part of the Bears to sign a #1 receiver. Not that Moss is a #1 anymore - but Ochocinco is - and the Bears didn't even seem to make an attempt. Obviously, the ship has sailed on Ochocinco. IMHO, Moss would give Chicago some additional depth at a very lean position.
