Chad Ochocinco promises to reimburse Mason Foster’s (potential) fine after hard hit
By Doug Farrar
But on at least one play, they gave it their all. The play happened with 10:04 left in the first quarter, and the Pats at their own 39-yard line. Chad Ochocinco(notes) ran an inside route after trailing right for about 10 yards, got his arms up to catch the ball from Brady … and got completely 'faced by Bucs rookie linebacker Mason Foster(notes).
The pass was incomplete — fortunately, Ocho was complete when he got up. Foster was penalized under the 'defenseless receiver' rule, the Bucs were docked 15 yards, and Foster can most certainly expect to be a little lighter in the wallet when the league sends out fines this next week.
Bucs head coach Raheem Morris talked about the play of his aggressive rookie linebacker after the game.
Obviously, they're going to err on the side of caution with the National Football League, but you don't want to deter Mason either. We're not going to let that be a deterrent for us in how physical we want to play. We're going to abide by the rules, obviously, but you've got to keep that type of mindset in your MIKE [middle] linebacker's mentality.
It's bang-bang. There's going to be some questionable ones like that all year. The human element (from the officials) is definitely going to be a factor.
But the way it's been explained to me and all the other teams is they're going to err on the side of caution and I don't have a problem with it. I didn't blink.
Here's the play — it's kind of an 'owie':http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shu...urn=nfl-wp5459
(Sorry couldn't get video to post so here's the link.)
However, according to the ever-magnanimous Ochocinco via his Twitter account, Foster may not have to reach for his checkbook at all:

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Chad is putting his $$$ where his mouth is, LOL. In his tweet he conratulates the guy for the hit and tells him that's the way the game is supposed to be player (amen to that). Tells his he'll reimburse him for whatever fine they give him.

Hopefully the fine the NFL slaps Ocho with will for paying someone elses fine will be large enough to keep his mouth shut. The rules against going for the head are there for a reason.

Just send him the money on the sly. If the guy getting hit thought it was ok then there should be no fine esp. if no injury. I wish we had him instead of Rwill.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

There is nothing on this planet that could keep his mouth shut.

Show me the rule that says the player has to pay the fine, and someone else cant pay it for him.
He could write it off as "an early birthday/Christmas present"

But remember that they have "Adolph" Goodell in charge of the NFL and rules are made to be changed. Or at least interpreted as he chooses to interpret them.

Im sure theres a rule that prohibits other people from paying a fine (its supposed to be punishment on a specific individual after all), but i doubt theres any rule for Chad to REIMBURSE him (i.e. pay him the same amount after the fact).

Ah yes, but there have been stories where teammates chip in and pay the fine for a player. A player from another team is no different really
