This won't help w/ Forte.

Got that right. Man this was a panic signing if there ever was one. I thought old Bud Adams was gonna roast him over an open fire but in the long run I guess they realize they have no offense without him. Kind of ironic we were the ones who proved that to them, huh? No matter what the pay scale for RB's just went up significantly.

I love Matt and love what he does for the Bears. But Forte isnt in the same league as CJ. Frank Gore's contract is more in the ball park IMO.
But Adrian Peterson will be pointing to this contact next year and the Vikings will have to pay up.

I don't think that pay scale for ALL RBs just went up. I think that many front offices and GMs can point to Johnson as an outlier in the statistical model. I mean, is there any argument that Chris Johnson is the top 2 RB in the NFL? His numbers would certainly bolster that point. Personally, I believe that Johnson is the best RB in the NFL with only Adrian Peterson being the guy in the argument with him. So, while I agree that Peterson will use Johnson's contract as leverage with the Vikings, I firmly believe that almost every team can look at their RB is say, "You think you're in Peterson and Johnson's league!? BWWAAHHAHAHAHAHHA!!!
Suffice it to say, Johnson signing this deal makes the Vikings pay attention if only because Peterson is in Johnson's league. In my opinion, should the Vikings pay Peterson something similar it is money well spent. He is, after all, Adrian Peterson. However, if the Bears gave that kind of money to Forte, that, my friends, is unequivocally laughable.

When I look at the deal Johnson signed I just roll my eyes but then when I compare it to Michael Vicks deal I think he got screwed. lol
