Shanahan says; "Rex is our Quarterback.........

Redskins can say 'Rex is our quarterback'

Grossman wins job over John Beck Brad Biggs

Mike Shanahan can now borrow the line Lovie Smith once used on a regular basis.
    “Rex is our quarterback.”

That’s because Shanahan selected Grossman, the former first-round draft pick of the Chicago Bears, as his starting quarterback, according to Rick Maese of the Washinton Post. It’s a departure from what most people thought would happen back during the summer. John Beck was presumed to be the starter.

But Grossman outperformed Beck in preseason and now he’s got the gig. Grossman, 31, took over at the end of last season when Donovan McNabb was benched.

The coaching said the competition was close going into the team’s final preseason game. Beck struggled in that game and Grossman didn’t play. Because Grossman sat out, most expected at the time that the job was his.

Now we can watch two former Bears playoff QB's with other teams. We must be getting better. How often has there ever been even one ex-Bear starting QB starting for another team let alone two!!!! We've finally upgraded our QB, LOL.

Who would have thought we'd ever see Wrecks Grossman and Neckbeard play another snap in the NFL (let alone start) after the bears finally cut them loose?

I wouldn't exactly call putting a shitty line, horrid receivers and an idiot HC in front of them "developing." Unless you're developing their injury resistance or something. Makes you wonder how they would be today if they had gone to a team that had a clue how to develop QB talent.

The first thing that jumped out at me was that Rex is 31... man, I'm getting old.

Second, good luck Rex. I hope you do well for the Skins.

I saw that too. The boys just entering into the prime of his QB years. Too bad the Skins kept him. Indy could probably use him right about now. How ironic would that be.

Forged in the fire my friend, forged in the fire. Anyone can learn to be a decent QB with the right team. Look at Tom Brady. Besides don't you thinks it's prepared them for the two shitty teams they're each playing for now?

before week 8 he'll be done if he plays anything like his last few games here. But here's to hopin' the Shanny's have got his head on straight; and suckered the NFL into letting Rex play w/a smaller ball to prevent the fumbled snaps.

Just think: in 2003, it was widely speculated that the Bears picked up Grossman because the Packers were seriously eyeing him...
