He's already done as much damage in four games as some will do in sixteen. They may not be winning yet but it sure isn't because of him. That was a great performance by a rookie against our defense. He carved us up today.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I stand by my words. Talk to me at the end of the season. Then we can see if he can repeat it next year. Yes, he is looking very impressive and is looking like he could be a star. But this guy was kissing his ass after one game and one quarter.
One more thing real quick on Forte.
Reason I say Forte is not an elite running back (yet) is because he is not an elite RUNNER. Pass catching hell yea, but how many elite rushing performances has he had? Yesterday was one, and he has had a few others. Ninth time in his career he had 100 yards rushing in a game (3 1/4 years)
Not sure if he has had back to back games yet, which is key for elite backs.
At the moment he is a very good RB, not quite elite YET. which has been my stance all along. Just need to see him actually RUSH the ball like an elite back. He did that yesterday.... Albeit against the 25th rushing defense but 205 yards rushing is impressive no matter who it is against.
I just think an elite running back has more rushing yards than receiving.

heh I'm just given you crap. But I do believe that when the OL/DL are on equal level you see how good of a RUNNER Forte can be. Problem is our OL is really that bad. Barber did nothing special, looked very Chester like actually(3.4 ypr). It has everything to do w/a horrid OL. Give this kid a legit OL and you will have a elite RB against every team, RUNNING and PASSING.
The sad thing is, the offensive line has actually improved since last year, and looks actually palpable when Carimi is in the lineup. (Except for the New Orleans game, of course.)
Funny how MM isn't back yet.
Just to clarify what I was saying, I never said that he would not be good or great. Just that I was not going to crown him after one fricken game as MM seemed to be doing
Yes MM, it was ONE GAME. We were chatting durring the Saints game, and he (too) was just starting his second game so that does not make two games!
He looks like he will be a great player though. Now that it has been four games. But lets see how he finishes the season out and if he can repeat it next year
