I believe because he was due a HUGE roster bonus, which is why they just released him.

It was stupid not to trade him before the bonus was due.
You can't tell me that they couldn't have gotten quite a few picks out of him. There are enough teams with qb needs that someone would have stepped up. Their delay really screwed them.

Just saw it live on ESPN, the guy is a total Class Act. I kinda hope he hangs it up if he's really not 100%. Lesson learned from Favre is DONT TARNISH YOUR LEGACY

Well, I would think his coaching skills are his best asset right now. Think about how much knowledge this guy has.
You don't know if his next hit will put him out of football. I'd pursue him for coaching. It's not as much dough, but it still allows him to be close to the game.
Lets face it, he knows how to read defenses with the best of him.

I've heard that he has stated that he has no interest at all in coaching. I agree with you though, he could make a Hell of a coach.

Really... Fuck'em I tried to tell him he's going to get hurt.. lol
Seriously though, he was wrecked last year. You can't tell me someone who takes a year to recover is going to be solid. Yeah people have done stuff like that, but at his age??
His days are numbered as a player no matter which way you slice it. I give him two more years until people see he's too old to recover.

I agree, I also wonder if his heart will be in it anywhere else....but you know some team would have given up all kinds of shit to take that chance.

Normally, i would agree with you. However, the Colts are in the fortunate position to also have the #1 draft pick, and are going to take Luck, who may very well be their NEXT franchise QB. Sure, if they traded Peyton, they couldve gotten more for him, but i think they will end doing just fine in the end, which is a bunch of bullcrap.

It IS bullcrap. They had an eternity of playoff births and one bad year gives them the hottest qb prospect in many years.
... But how well they will turn out is irrelevant in regards to how well they could have. Imagine the dominance with luck and a few extra early round picks over the next few years...
