    Tebow already on trade block

With acquisition of Manning, Broncos looking to move 2010 first-round pick. Terry McCormick

Well, that didn't take long. No sooner had news leaks of the Denver Broncos winning the Peyton Manning derby than a report emerges that the team wants to deal 2011 starter Tim Tebow.

Albert Breer of NFL Network says the Broncos have already put Tebow on the trading block.
Meanwhile, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Alex Smith, who felt a little disrespected by the 49ers' pursuit of Peyton, prefers to go back to San Fran rather than sign with the Dolphins in the event that the Niners failed in their pursuit of Manning, which of course they did.

The Dolphins have already been turned down by Manning, Matt Flynn and possibly Smith - not to mention Jeff Fisher as head coach.

Memo to Jeff Ireland: Make a run for Tebow.

The Dolphins have been on a front office losing streak all off-season. The franchise is so stagnant that the Jay Fiedler era is starting to look like the good old days. Steelers safety Ryan Clark even bashed the 'Phins, saying no one wants to play there.

And while it is the opposite end of the state, Tebow is a Florida native, and many Floridians still back the Dolphins because of their once-glorious history and the fact that they were the state's first pro franchise.

Yes, Tebow is short on passing polish, but he is long on moxie and infectious energy, something the Dolphins have definitely been in short supply on in recent years.

Less than an hour ago before the news of this even hit I was discussing this with some associates who believed the Broncos would hang on to Tebow and let Manning develop him. As nicely as I could I told them that would never happen. That would be like having Garrett Wolfe understudy with Walter Payton. I can't think of a QB in the NFL who could be more different than Manning other than Tebow. You might just as well bring a knife to a gunfight.

Elway has been looking for a way, any way possible, to cut loose of Tebow without upsetting the fans who think he's the next coming of himself. Manning's agreement to come to Denver just gave him his opportunity and he's not wasting anytime getting on with it. The only thing I think is wrong is that I can't see anyone trading a first round pick for him. Even the Phins which would be the best option now that Manning turned them down would balk at spending this years first on Tebow. Maybe that extra 3rd we gave them for Marshall and a second round pick next year but giving up a first for Tebow seems awfully pricey to me.

Looking at who Tebow would fit with and get similar adoration to what he got here it would seem like Miami and Jacksonville would be the most logical places for him to roost. He's a Florida native, he played at Florida, and Jesus loves him so the South is definitely the place for him to be because I don't they care all that much about Jesus in places like Detroit, Cleveland, or Cincy.

Just as the "where in the world will Manning land" took up the last two weeks now it becomes "where in the world will Tebow land". Been a crazy off season so far hasn't it?

Miami has to want him badly just to fill the seats. I think he'd fit better with Miami and their offense anyways. Jesus won't help him win but having Bush beside him may do the trick. I imagine there will be a lot of hb screens happening.

Jacksonville wants him also, well their new owner Shah whatever does, anyway. Wants to get him to fill the seats. Jags or Dolphins...either one would be a smart move for him because of the Florida love he has.

Oh well...so much for "Tebowmania," i dont see him leading another team to the playoffs any time soon.

Seems like Gods plans are for him to become very mediocre and win only about six games next year. I think Tebow just isn't praying hard enough.

I don't really care fogo all of the religion knocking, but I just don't see anyone giving up much of anything for him. Personally I don't think he's worth anything, not even a backup spot, but you know somebody like Miami will jump in and scoop him up.

I think most of us were shocked with what he was able to accomplish last season though. I'd like to see him do well.

What is all this fogo you speak of?

And yeah, i really dont care about an athlete's relgiion, but TEBOW was the one that decided to put it front and center and make it an issue to be discussed, so mocking him for it is fair game imho. there are countless athletes who are religious and we arent ripping on them for it, why? Because they didnt make a big deal of it like Tebow (and the media) has.

Well if the rumor is true once again the Broncos are over estimating the value of their QB again. They wanted a first or two seconds for Orton last summer and ended up with nothing. If they're expecting a bidding war that will result in them getting a 1st round pick they're dreaming.

Part of the problem with the Florida teams is do they really want him and can they use him. Does Joe Philbin really want to work with Tim Tebow after being Aaron Rodgers OC? Could Tebow even succeed at all there with the Dolphins lack of talent?

In Jacksonville wear he calls home they just drafted Blaine Gabbert to be their QB. What will that accomplish for him if they bring Tebowmania to town? Of course in Jacksonville the problem is putting butts in the seats and that may overrule what makes the most football sense. Will the owner force the issue?

Someone suggested the best place for him might be NE where Belicheck might find a creative way to use him or possibly in Tennessee where they've had some experience with athletic running QB's who have a hard time playing conventional NFL football.

All I can say is this should be interesting to watch as it unfolds.

If someone wants to bring up their religion that's fine by me. But then I get to bring it up as well.

But I honestly hope he improves on his ability to throw the ball. It hurts to see those wobbly passes. There's a chance he could become one of the better quarterbacks in the league. Of course that chance is small as of now but he's young and has time to improve.
