I don't know, continued to be very good ST players? They got paid after they left the Bears didn't they. Toub is a great coach and that helps to create great ST players but most of these guys have some talents beyond average and they don't just disappear when they leave Chicago. Toub runs a great ST system we all know that.Quote:

You can name lots of players that were starters that also played special teams, but that's not what I'm talking about.
I probably misunderstood your point. No, I don't think the guys we lost became starters on the offense or defense of another team after they left Chicago. What I was referring to is that guys like Shaw and Ayanbadejo were still ST standouts after they left and I'd be willing to bet Graham won't be much if anything more than that either.Quote:

AP was never a starter but he did get some use as a RB and probably should have gotten more. Currently I think Kellen Davis is a guy who's gonna make that jump this year.
There are always a few who make the jump but to me being a 4 team ST star on the Bears makes you the equivalent of a starter on either of the other two squads because I think we make ST a bigger part of our game than other teams do. I know it's just my opinion but ST requires some specialized skills too. Open field tackling and blocking in space are two that come to mind. Not every player on a team makes a good ST guy.
Just my way of looking at it mats.
