Ravens agree to two-year deal with CB Graham
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a two-year deal with Chicago Bears free agent cornerback Corey Graham.
The Pro Bowl special-teams ace previously visited the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. Graham intercepted a career-high three passes with one forced fumble last season. In five NFL seasons, Graham has 180 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles. The Bears fifth-round draft pick from New Hampshire, Graham's 75 special-teams tackles ranks third in the NFL since 2007.
Phil Emery's first mistake as new GM.

Sorry to see him go but I don't think it's Emery's mistake. He wants a legit shot at CB. Something that Lovie makes the call on. I think Emery bolstered the lineup by getting Costanzo and Weems.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

That's why Lovie should get punched in the face for starting Jennings over Graham and/or Moore. How can Emery re-sign Jennings and let one of the elite special teams players in the league go like that? He did the same thing JA did with Tim Shaw back in '10.
Since 2007, the Bears have allowed the fewest yards per punt return in the NFL (6.5), and Graham has 104 ST tackles. He was our best ST player and provided more depth in the secondary.
Graham > Weems/Costanzo

We get and replace even Pro Bowl STers that i'm not too worried.

Indeed. Same arguments were had when Baltimore stole another ST stud from us...Ayanbadejo. And yet...other players stepped up and filled the void. If anything....besides Hester, Gould and Mannelly...im not really concerned about losing ST players.

I agree its not a mistake. The Bears simply couldn't accomodate Graham's playing requests. They tried him at CB a few years ago and he flat out stunk. There's no reason to overpay for a guy who primarily plays special teams.

I was happy with Graham's ST effort but he was lackluster at CB. I give Emery a point for this.

This cracker is saddened by losing a Graham.

Graham > Weems/Costanzo
I would have liked to have had him back but the handwriting was on the wall when we signed Weems and Costanzo. Weems was the Pro Bowl ST guy for the NFC in 2010 and in addition to his coverage skills he's a top notch return specialist and can play some Slot Receiver. We lose a ST/DB role player but gain a ST/KR/PR/WR role player and Costanzo is an absolute stud ST guy. Think Tim Shaw type guy.
For what we would have paid Graham we got Weems and more overall skills for the same bucks. I wanted Graham back too but he's was always bound and determined to go somewhere where they'd give him a shot at CB and when Lovie gave him his chance he didn't earn the spot.
He did well subbing for DJ this past year but when he played CB at the Pro Bowl he got eaten alive by Marshall. I don't see where he'll have any better chance of starting at CB in Baltimore than in Chicago but Harbaugh knows a good ST guy when he sees one and grabbed him for that. Funny thing is he can celebrate his reunion with Ayanbadejo who's also with the Ravens. It's better than having to go against him twice a year if he'd signed with Detroit or Minny.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

No way!
Because Shaw and Ayanbadejo have done... what?
Toub is the reason for The Bears outstanding special team players.
