GL Haine, hope you find an OC that doesn't feel that the starter is the only one that deserves his time, and is actually interested at trying to develop you instead of destroying your career.

Exactly! I still think Haney showed flashes of good qualities. If only he had been allowed to develop behind Cutler instead of having a dumbass OC close the door to him.

I agree; I mean what F'n OC thinks that the young backup needs ZERO rep time in practice, or Video time w/the OC/Starter? Ecspeically in a system this complicated that allows the QB to be hit. What Martz did to Haine was what The Bronc's tried to do to Tebow, but the Bronc's finally changed their minds in hopes of winning. I don't think he's going to be a starter anywhere, but I think he could be a quality backup in a WCO.

I'm just glad to see the kid land on his feet. They way Martz treated him was a crime and it cost us games and a shot at the playoffs. Caleb Hanie is not as bad a QB as he appeared at the end of last season. I'm glad he's close by. I'll be looking forward to watching him resurrect his career here in Denver.

Hanie played scared and he never looked confident. It's going to take a few more years, a better OC, and some tutelage from a veteren qb before he will even begin to resemble a NFL qb. He's the type that hopes he never gets called upon so he can earn his paycheck by holding a clipboard. Everyone wants a qb who wants a chance at the starting position. I don't see that in Hanie.
Funny how Denver took Orten off of our hands and now they took Hanie. I really appreciate Denver for continually helping us out because both are deadbeats. At least Orten didn't fall flat on his face like Hanie. Say what you will about Grossman but Hanie makes he look like Drew Brees in comparison.

Orton? Was traded; and Haine was an FA, not traded ie not related since they didn't take him off our hands. No one makes Grossman look like Brees by comparision, if anything your calling Haine looking scared is closer to what got Grossman constantly in trouble, never saw a guy piss his panties once they stepped onto a field more then Rexxxy.

I would agree but I still believe that was mostly because he wasn't given adequate prep for what Martz expected of him. When he took Collins place in the 2011 NFCC Game he ran the simplified offense Collins was running well enough to actually keep us in the game. That was enough to get him the backup role last year which Martz didn't like because Hanie wasn't "his boy" and he made sure to emphasize that in preseason when he needlessly demoted him in favor of Enderle who won't even make the team this year either.
Martz made sure Collins didn't get more than he could handle because that was his boy so when Hanie came in during the NFCC Game all he had to deal with was that and he did fine. This year Martz tossed everything at him but the kitchen sink and he didn't have enough prep or practice reps to ingest it all fast enough. So yeah, he way nervous and scared and that's exactly what Martz wanted. Mike Martz is an evil arrogant little bastard who should go coach college somewhere because he's a horrible NFL coach and has been for years.
I watched Hanie play in college for two years and he's not a bad QB. I'm glad the Broncos are gonna give him another shot. He's gonna have a bit of a following out here and unless Manning can't go he won't see the field much anyway and he'll learn a lot more from Manning and McCoy than he would ever have gotten out of Martz.
