Patriots cut ties with Ochocinco

Chad Ochocinco's inglorious tenure with the Patriots is over.
“Thoroughly enjoyed the oppurtunity to play for the ”Patriot“ organization… fans were … wicked awesome, I wish all of you the best…” Ochoicinco tweeted Thursday.
Earlier reports that Ochocinco was still on the roster and left the team facility early for a dentist appointment were quickly debunked.
The Patriots first attempted to trade the veteran receiver but found no takers. Since he's not subject to waivers, he will become a free agent as soon as the transaction is submitted to the NFL.
Ochocinco struggled to acclimate to the Patriots' playbook and openly voiced frustration last season when he remained a starter late into the season despite limited contributions.
The Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders could have interest in Ochocinco. He teamed with Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer during their glory years together with the Bengals. The Dolphins run a West Coast-style offense and don't have a No. 1-type receiver.

I would love to have him in here, but we now have a glut at the position. I wonder if he tries to goto Oakland. I think he still has few really good years left.

I'll take a glut anyway. Sign him for giggles just to scare more teams. THEN try telling Chi fans they don't have wr's.

What team is he going to scare? He had a massive 15 catches last season for 276 yards even with the likes of Brady throwing to him. He's washed up just like T.O. Time for them both to move on. I'd be shocked if anyone else bothers to sign him. If he can't make it on a team with receivers like the Patriots have, I don't see him making it anywhere.

If he ends up anywhere, it will be Oakland.

They weren't trying to use him though, when he was out there they didn't throw to him; they want to throw short and keep the ball and keep it moving, not 1 turn score/big plays downfield(which is what he does). If he lands anywhere w/a qb bank on him having a huge bounceback year.
