Veteran free-agent WR Edwards signs contract with Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks will sign veteran free-agent wide receiver Braylon Edwards on Tuesday, according to Dave Mahler of KJR-AM in Seattle.
The 29-year-old Edwards worked out for the Seahawks last week, but did not receive a contract offer as the team opted to sign Antonio Bryant instead.
Edwards is coming off a knee injury that limited him to nine games and 15 receptions in 2011 with the San Francisco 49ers, who released the veteran toward the end of the regular season.
In 99 career games, the former first-round draft pick from Michigan has 341 receptions for 5,323 yards with 39 touchdowns. He earned Pro Bowl honors following the 2007 season.
After releasing Mike Williams on July 13, the Seahawks have been in the market for a big, physical receiver to pair opposite Sidney Rice.

Once signed, Edwards will compete with Bryant, Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin, Ben Obomanu, Kris Durham and Ricardo Lockette for a starting job.

I thought Edwards did a good job for the Jets. He did a great job blocking for the run game.
Hard to tell exactly what the injury and his year would/could have been for the 49ers.
Sounds like he also likes to hang out in bars, like me. 'Course he has gotten in trouble and gets $ to be an athlete, unlike me.
In the locker room I believe Braylon is a good teammate, hope he does well in Seattle.
