Anyone know how the Ravens are doing cap-wise? They have a few FA's of interest IIRC.
Even though he's not anywhere near the best QB in the NFL, let alone good enough to be the highest paid ever, good for him.
6 years, $120 million.
No way he's worth that kind of money. He did great in the playoffs but that's it. He is a better than average QB on a strong team. To command the highest paid contract in NFL history, you have to be the undisputed No. 1 QB in the league and he is not, it's that simple.
And now the Ravens will stink for the next 8 years because they can't sign anybody else.
way over paid, but the guy is always money in the playoffs. Also sets a horrible market for guys like Cutler, Romo and Rivers who will be looing to get extended again in the next year or so.
Not sure how the contract breaks down, or affects the cap year in and year out, so too early to tell what type of damage his contract does. I doubt they would kill their cap though.
Cutler won't get near this deal though, so no worries.
I don't know why people dis the guy he is huge in the playoffs and he just won a SB. I say good for him and maybe he wins another SB.
He is like Eli Manning...a GOOD QB that has been clutch when it mattered, winning SB. But would either of them even gotten that far if it wasnt for their Defenses? Doubtful. Flacco (like Manning) is NOT "Elite," just like Trent Dilfer wasnt elite, and he certainly is not the most valuable QB in the league, deserving of the richest QB contract in NFL history.
With that being said, most of us dont care...this is the Ravens' problem, not ours. We have our own issues to address.
I guess that's what 11 playoff TD's no picks and one SB MVP gets you. Though, I doubt he ever gets back to the superbowl again.
