Costello from Post reports the Jets are not committed to trading Revis as has been widely reported,

Could it be all the trade talk is coming from Revis agents camp who are DESPERATE in wanting him off the Jets because Woody, for once in his life doing the smart thing, won't pay him and because the cornerback market will be drying up very soon?

Brian Costello of the New York Post has learned, according to a league source, the Jets are listening to trade offers, but not actively shopping the All-Pro cornerback and there is a thought within the organization that he could still be a member of the 2013 team.

The Jets have received several trade proposals, but none of them has been strong enough to motivate the Jets into making the move and the team does not think any trade is imminent. That is not to say a team couldn’t make an offer today that blows the Jets away, but that proposal had not been made as of last night.

The Buccaneers have made an offer, according to another source, but it does not appear the offer is good enough to push new general manager John Idzik into trading the player widely considered the best cornerback in football. Tampa Bay has been unwilling to include their 2013 first-round pick (No. 13 overall), according to a Yahoo Sports report.

Revis is entering the final year of his four-year, $46 million deal and is believed to be seeking a long-term contract that pays him around $15-16 million a year. There have been no negotiations between the Jets and Revis, according to several sources. Revis is due a $1 million roster bonus Saturday if he is still on the Jets roster, but the Jets are not going to rush trading their best player over that.

Good stuff, but I would prefer them to trade him, so that none of their AFC East Rivals can snatch him up in FA next year. Dude has been twice the headache Lance Briggs ever was about getting a new contract.

Jets senior personnel executive Terry Bradway was in attendance Thursday at the West Virginia pro day, where the star attraction was QB Geno Smith.

Bradway watched Smith in what was described as an impressive workout for scouts. He completed 60 of 64 throws in a passing drill (no defenders), including two drops by WR Stedman Bailey.

The Jets are in the quarterback market, but it's unlikely they'd pull the trigger with the ninth overall selection. Smith is expected to be the first quarterback off the board. The Mountaineers have another likely first-rounder in WR Tavon Austin.

With Holmes and Hill, maybe a third WR could do this squad favors, idk how I feel about Geno Smith tho. I know it's an entirely different offense than Pat White ran in his mountaineer days, but even so, I'm leery of taking a QB from that school.

Rumor has it the Jets are looking at Brady Quinn and Kevin Kolb. I say piss on both of them, and draft Matt Scott as the backup this year.

In summary then, rookie special teams coach Ben Kowitca is inheriting a unit that should be capable of delivering a much improved performance on the back of last year’s disaster. But if over the coming weeks and months you start to see large-scale personnel movements at the bottom end of the roster, be prepared for more mishaps in 2013.

thanks for the bump, Bearstuff, lol. I think the Jets are one of those interesting teams, even for non-fans, tho. Right now they're a tire fire, and all indicators are this is gonna end UGLY as hell. Possibly a 2-4 win sseason. As long as Manziel becomes a Jets pick because of it, I'll be happy. I just can't wait to get rid of Sanchez and Ryan, worse qb/coach combo for the jets I've seen (even worse than Mangini/Favre).
